Using the FAQ here and from a few other places I managed to install a Xenium ICE mod.

However: The red LED flickers on and off (as does the XBOX power LED) until stabilizing to a point where the LED is on, and the XBOX power LED flashes red and green. No signal to the TV, though.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Did you solder? Did you use solderless install?

Is your machine a 1.6 version, Is it a 1.5 version, or is it one of the others?

The more info you give us the more help we can give you. Right now I don't know whether to tell you that you need to check your LPC Rebuild, your pin header, your solderless adapter, or to tell you that you have a bad chip.

So you couldnt get it to boot to the Xenium os screen? Are you sure you place the DO from the solderless adapter at the right point on the mobo?

Yes, check your D0 also check the alignmetn of the chip. The one thing you MUST be careful with is the solderless adapters have very sharp pogo pins on them. If you widdle that puppy around too much you can scratch a trace and create damage to the motherboard.

I have actually seen more people do damage with solderless adapters than soldering.

If you are certain all is well with chip alignment and D0, then I would say your chip is bad.

It just gives me nothing. I'm certain it's at the right point, I checked and doublechecked quite a few times. The link(s) I used to check were a bit fuzzy, like the tutorial here was pretty crappy photo wise (no offense. other then that it was great.) Anyone have a better picture?

Scratch that. Moved the D0 a tiny bit to the right.

Now I get the MS dash. The Xenium ICE LED is solid red, however.

Tried moving the D0 a few times, and it shuts off and shuts down again if it's not on the right spot. When it is, it just gives me the regular MS Dash. Bharosaihdoisa

Are you sure you have the chip plugged into the adapter properly?

If I didn't, wouldn't the light not go on? I'm pretty certain... I'll play with it.

Still nothing. When the D0 isn't at the right spot, it doesn't work, so I 'm PRETTY SURE it's not the D0. Bad chip?

Ugh, unfortunately I really don't have a picture. Every site I've looked at, the setup seems to be exactly what I have?

Rolling Eyes

I'd consider having someone solder it for me, but I'm lazy.

If you think you guys could help me if I grab a pic, I can do it soon... Also, I've got a second XBOX purchased as a gift that's modded, but I'll be damned if I can figure out where the modchip actually is installed.

You may have gotten a softmod or TSOP flashed machine.

If you cannot see the chip, it's either that or it's a SmartXX LT OPX chips soldered on the underside of hte motherboard. If you look to the left you can see the blue chip sticking out a little next to the side vent on the left side near the LPC area.

With your Xenium Ice issues... I am guessing it's the solderless adapter. They can be a bugger at times.

Jah? I'll have someone solder it, I suppose. My father will be in town shortly, so I'll just have him do that...

As for the other XBOX, I've ANOTHER question: Let's say, hypothetically, that I... deleted the files on the hard-drive. Would this be repairable?
