Hey Hey,
Shark2th's favorite stoner/modder here to ask a question. I try not to ask to many so I get to ask a dumb simple one. Here it goes.
I am a movie buff. I own over 600 VHS' movies (retail, not recorded) and over 150 dvd's. I buy just about every movie I love. There are some I paid the ticket price for when it came out in the theatre. So I pay for the movie either ways, no piracy here...
Anyways, my room mate gets Netflix and he usually records them on VHS. I burned one to dvd that I have seen before. I want to copy a couple of these.
MY QUESTION:
I want to rip and compress a couple of dvd's to DiVX format. or Xvid ( don't know the diff. Never cared enough to find out. Only time I saw it was when I was downloading pawn) So. What program would be good to get me started. Free if possible, or avaialabe on limewire, I need something for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.
I know about the divx codec/plugin (I think it has an encoder with it?? Correct me as always, i need the info.)
I am looking to put some of my own movies also on the xbox for transport. I don't want to keep looking for the divx file on a p2p.
I know there is someone who does this same thing 30x a day on this site. Its a big site.

I am usually not this lazy, but I have been so busy, I hvaen't been on Halo 2 yet since the stats reset and I had like over 1000 games logged. So yes I am that busy.
