can somebody help me? i softmodded my xbox v1.6 (i think) .its manufactured on oct 2004. it has a 5838 kernel. i was able to softmod it successfully but when i try to play burnout 3 and some games,it just wont let me. it loads for a moment then it'll go to the main menu(evox dashboard).im using maxtor 200gb 7200rpm.8mb cache.i dont understand why i can play some games like nba live 2005..but for burnout-with no success..pls help..thanks
i used xbox hdm to partition & lock the hard drive..and i even used an evox boot cd to format the hard drive through my xbox and then softmod it

Are these backups you have made of retail games or are these games you have downloaded? If these are backups than your issue is most likely copy protection and you need to find the appropriate crack for whatever game you are trying to play.
If these are downloaded (ie, already cracked/patched) then that does sound like an issue... one that I will research more (but before I do lets make sure I even need to, so tell me if they are downloaded or just copied from a friend/rental/etc).

this is a copied / burned game already.. the game just wont load..i softmodded 2 xbox and the other 1 is working fine .. the xbox that is working fine is manufactured on aug 2004 with a 200gb seagate hd. the other one that is "sick" is manufactured on oct 2004 with a maxtor 200gb hd.. its not only burnout 3 that is not working with the sick xbox.. i borrorwed some originals from my friends and some games just wont load..is there a hd incompatibility here?

try deleting the cache files, that is everything on X Y and Z Drive, and any file in c:/cache and e:/cache. See if that solves your problem _________________ XBOX v1.4

ok i will try doing that...but i dont see any cache folder on c: drive. i only see it on e: .. is it ok to use my auto installer deluxe cd to format the cache in x y z drives. coz in the cd there is an option where u can format the cache drives..
