Ok first off hey guies and thankx for reading my artical.
Just wanted to say I really think tha the gloves are off and Microsoft and Sony are going at it very heavy indeed.
Microsoft with the deeper pocket has a lot of ground to make with the Xbox 360 but it should hopefuly be a good race to see who comes out on top.
If I were to make a prediction I feel this is another Genisis and SNES war and speakeing globaly it will be each system takeing the lead from the other till we call it a very close match. The only reason I say that is the PS3 will have all the way backwords compatabilty to PSone and xbox 360 will have only xbox if you opt for the HDDupgrade.
Price wars will e set by Microsoft this time due to the costly efforts of the Cell. I am predecting Xbox 360 to be 299 for the base unit 399 for the 40gig drive and a 40gig drive upgrade being 129 and later a 80gig drive starting out at 199. Nov '06 system break in at 40gig drive system 299 with the base falling down to 199. 40gig drive going to 99 and the 80gig going to 179. May '07 E3 week base system going for 179 40gig system going to 249 40 gig drive going to 79 and the 80gig going for 149. Nov '07 Base system going to include 40 gig drive rebate where people can upgrade their 40gig drive to 80gig phase out the 40gig system in place of a 80gig system for the same price of 249. Base system price not changed from 179. 40gig drives going for 49 and 80gig going to 129.
PS3 might have hdd incorporated into their priceing sceen but still don't know if the price will bewith the base unit or if they opt to goto a 50 and 100 gig drive just to one up MS still the 10 and 20 gig differance will not matter too much for as most people will not want a 80 gig drive unless they just want to impress their friends.
Well over and out all.

I agree, The killzone video, if what sony says is true, thats all real time, that is some good graphics, AI, sound, everything. Not to sound like a nay sayer. But the ps3 has the 360 out gunned and out classed. Even the look of the console is more powerful. But i think (this is just me) nintendo is slowly wraping there hands are sony and microsofts balls (Article a gameindustry.biz) this is what a top analyist said. And the creaator of Metal gear solid (Article also at gameindustry.biz) Says that makeing games for the ps3 is very hard. That sony needs to drop there levell for Devoulpment to a more realistic apporach. he says "dev. for the ps3 is more like a fancy dinner you would have once or twice a year. Dev. for the 360 is like a nice dinner you would have once or twice every month. And dev. for the revolution is like have a nice dinner every night."

Hobbs, remember waaaay back when and I had suggested that M$ was going to have a drive that runs backwards of all other drives. I haven't been able to confirm or deny, but if that's true... Maxtor and the rest would have to try to clone the drives for the Xbox.
Not likely. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Indeed, I wouldn't trust it, be pretty damn pleased if the PS3 could do that, but wouldn't put any money on it.
In terms of graphic capability, I think it's a close call, and still impossible to say which one will produce the better looking games at this point.
But my vote goes to PS3, even if it turns out a technical disappointment like the PS2:
All my favourite franchises are going there.
Both the system and the controllers are far more asthetically pleasing.
Is that a slot-loading drive I see?
Support for almost twice as many controllers, bluetooth, Sony and SD Memory sticks/cards.
Considerably more capable medium for games and movies, actually able to play HD movie content instead of 360's DVD9s.
That's quite extensive price speculation this early in the game, but hey. I know I'd pay extra for all of the tweaks, which is why the odds that the PS3 will be more expensive doesn't particularly bother me.
If the modding for the 360 is half as good as the current box is though, there's no way I'm gonna pass it up.
I'll probably still have a 360, purely for the games PS3 miss and the most probably better online features.
Anyone who chooses a console based upon the graphical quality of games is a moron.

I haven't seen the Killzone video, but I wouldn't bet money on the PS3 being able to perform those kinds of graphics.
Why would I say that without ever seeing them? Because EVERY time a new console is coming out, the manufacturer embelishes specs, and shows footage that the console can't quite live up to. It might fall a little short, or maybe way short of those new Killzone graphics. The only sure thing is that PS3's graphics will surpass PS'2 graphics. (The same goes for Xbox360 & Revolution). _________________ *Xbox 1.4.

I do hope we can use bluetooth headsets on the PS3 though, we've got a bunch lying around, and saves us having to acquire headsets with the right connectors.

Sony is giving us this "cell processor" crap, and honestly, I would be willing to bet the 360 will be able to run the PS# into the ground. I don't believe Sony learned from the mistakes with the PS2. I believe it's still going to be under powered.
The "3.2ghz main RAM" is a joke. That's just something bult into the CPU, and not real ram. It'll have 256mb shared, just watch and see.
Quote:
CPU: Cell Processor
• PowerPC-base Core @3.2GHz
• 1 VMX vector unit per core
• 512KB L2 cache
• 7 x SPE @3.2GHz
• 7 x 128b 128 SIMD GPRs
• 7 x 256KB SRAM for SPE
• 1 of 8 SPEs reserved for redundancy
• total floating point performance: 218 GFLOPS
I'm sorry, but if it really was what they were saying, that CPU would be enuff processing power for artificial intelligence. The damn thing would develope a personality.
There is one plus if the stats on CNET are correct. Blu-ray.
If the PS3 will be able to run Blu-ray media, it'll be a great plus for it over the 360.

"Cell processor crap", heh, yes, this is what Sony, Toshiba and IBM have been working on for quite a while now, and yes, if it comes out to plan it can subsidise some of the RAM. Those are the specs that they've been working on, and budget allow, that's what they should turn out like.
I still wonder what happened to the Blu-ray HD combing forces I heard about, but they seem to still be stating their using Blu-ray. But yeah, most of the other specifications can be argued either way and come up similar, but the inclusion of media that can be layered into the hundreds of Gbs is a definite advantage the 360's DVD9 can't match.
P.S. I know I've said this a million times, but I still don't care, the lack of power of the PS2 hasn't slowed it down one bit (apart from multiplayer Sonic Heroes, and one stage in SC2 =/), and I'm loving the lineup for the PS3 already.
I only really started appreciating the Xbox late in it's life, when modding had developed pretty far, XBC and Kai were booming, and there was a bit more than a handful of kick-arse games.

Ok, guys, I'm an XBox loyalist. Hense why I'm a member of this site, and the XB-Scene. You can talk specs, grapics, blah blah. But, WHO's gonna be with M$ on this next console? Oh, wait, one of the best video game (RPG) creators of all time. Yeah, SquarEnix, baby! FFXII is rumored to be released on the 360, not to mention a whole line of games, dedicated to just M$. So, if it comes down to game selection then I'm goin with the 360, just for the sheer point of being able to play my fav games all in one place.[/i] _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
