im not a big fan of linksys...but any 802.11b or g router should work fine. then all you need is a wireless bridge/adapter for your xbox and and youll be good to go.

here are some examples of the wireless /bridgeadapter:

I personally like the NetGear WGT624 Super G 108Mb/s Firewalled wireless router. It has a very nice, clean, and easy to use web interface for configuring your router (firewall, encryption, ect)...it also allows you to update your router firmware from the internet (some routers make you go search for the firmware that was made for your router and manually install it).

thanks,

im searching on ebay at the momet trying to decide what to get but after you mention that live firmware updating thats a great feature.. I thought most routers had a web interface to change the preferences.. Am i wrong?? Anyway, thanks for the advice.. I will certainly be taking it onboard when i purchase this.

regards,

no prob...glad to help

yeah most routers do have a web interface... but i like netgear's alot better than the others. it is more organized, it has an IP address reservation feature, and it is very easy to configure.

I have 2 things against netgear routers. It seems as of late they have made an autointerface popup as soon as you hook it up and open your internet explorer that wants to configure everything it self, but it wont give you the option of choosing anything your self. Makes it a little bit of a pain.
And also i have gotten a lot of netgear routers back bad in the box lately, i guess they got a load of bad flash rom chips. Im just not trusting them right now. I am using a microsoft one in my house and it works without a hitch

I prefer D Link over any brand....Have a Linksys that I gave away and Netgear just never had one that worked....D Link are firm ware upgradeable and has not failed yet..Just my opion but worth looking at.
