Installed Executor 2.3 Pro and WD 160gig 7200 & Slayer 2.5. on used v1.5. Everything works well. Ocassionally on startup I get looping. Red light, looks like power goes off, back on red light. Have to shut off and restart mabye several times. Then back to normal. I have also had XBox shut down during FTP and loading game when intense use of Hard Drive. Have not gamed much on it, but seems OK. Even able to lock hard drive and bypass chip seems unlikely software or chip issue but won't rule that out.

Was wondering if this was a common issue. Have not had this before in other XBOX mods. XBox did not do this before it was modded. Maybe Power Supply a little weak for power draw from WD drive ? Have tested WD externally using WD diagnostics and it says all OK.

Any suggestions or thoughts?
Thanks, davenoh :?:

That is called fragging. Stands for "frequent red and green light". And, no that is not typical. Is your chip secure? Off the top of my head that is all I can think of right now.

it sounds like your chip has not been fitted properly, i have heard of this happening if there is a poor connection to the d0 point. you could try resoldering it or using the alternate d0 point, the one on the bottom of the board is the easiest to solder

I agree the chip isnt on right, and I believe that`most of the time it is the d0 point that is screwed up. Try resoldering it or try the alternate. Good luck.
