I have soft modded a couple xbox's (not difficult) anyways I wasn't really paying attention and I went to restore MS dash so I could go on live. But I accidently went to create MS backup, I pressed the button twice and realized what I did. I just overwrote my MS backup with basically a softmod backup (I think). Now when I start my xbox with dvd tray open it takes me straight to trying to update using xbox live, I will press O.K and it doesn't do anything(I can just keep pressing, but and it keeps trying to update) I don't have my ethernet cord plugged in. When I power up with tray closed and official xbox game in, the game will load. When I power up with burned game , it just takes me to the update screen(like its not even detecting a disc). I'm scared to let xbox update fearing I will lose my xbox privilages. I just bought this xbox less than a week ago. Maybe the xbox is fine but I'm not sure???
Is there any way to just back track and make it so you never even installed the soft mod (without MS backup) Any advice, Ideas, and/or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ok try this. Put the game in or however you got your exploit just resoftmod it and reapply your dash. (like evox and unleash) once thats all done it would be easier to find another M$ dash and FTP it to your box. Re doin the soft mod helped me when i had the ERROR 21 _________________ Xbox v1.0

Thanks, I do have the AID disk but if I go to install M$ dash do I do it on the "C" or the "E" drive and will this make it like its never been softmodded (using SID v2.0) then I can load my splinter cell exploit and create M$ dash backup so It will be like I never fu#*'d up??? Hope it works this is my third xbox (you could say I'm a sore loser with a bad temper or I mean )

Should I format the C drive/partition first then install MS dash using AID? Will I be able to boot after and will I be back to normal as if I just took her straight out the box. This is what I want - It to be a fresh virgin xbox straight out the box

I just did a retail HDD format with AID, then installed m$ dash. So far its all good (knock on wood) i'm back to playin my online hockey 2K5(best xbox game out )Thanks for the help.
