I just put an Xenium ICE in my kids XBOX. I have a modded box already and I have 4 brands of DVD-Rs and 2 of those will be recognized by the drive and 2 cannot (mine reads them all). Is this a bios issue or are Philips drives know for this?? I tried the search but couldnt get the page to come up!!
P.S. My son just put the same brand media but different game in the xbox and 1 worked and one didnt!!! T

hi xboxfrogg,
yes.. That is the case.. It sux really. But im glad they did release the samsung drive (thank god).. It makes things so much easier when it reads cdr's..
Maybe try looking on ebay etc for a samsung drive.. I can guarantee you will be happy with that.
Ive had phillips, thomsons and samsung drives and i must say thomson were the worst closely followed by thomson..

My brother in law has a 1.6 with a phillips drive and it reads dvd-r and cd-r!! the fact that it read cd-r amazed me because i've heard of so many of the Phillips drives didn't read cd-r. _________________ Xbox V1.3

Damn, My Phillips only does DVD-R and CD-RW. Still, CD-RW is good enough for small stuff like app updates etc.
