Hi, I just got my Aladdin EX, I did exactly what the diagram said. But I'm having this problem. The Xbox turn on, off, do this 2 time in a row, then it will turn on, changing of color Green and Red. I doble check the solder and everying look fine. I take out the D0 and still do the same. Finally I uninstall everything and the xbox run perfectly. Any tips?? If anyone have this modchip I will be glad if you help me on this one. Thanks a lot!!

If you take out the D0 and your Xbox is fragging (turn of and on, and then red/green light) then you damaged your motherboard somewhere. Sorry to be the one to give you bad news. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I thought you said you disco'd it....
If you disco'd it and the machine runs fine, and only ran badly when the chip was connected then you need to examine on of the following.
Your install: If solder, check solder points for gaps or bridges. Check traces for broken traces in the LPC area only.
If it was a solderless install then you check alignment.
If you truly think your install is good, then the chip could be bad or have a corrupt flash.
That's really all it can be.
When you said you disconnected the D0 I was assuming you also removed the chip. Usually though, disconnecting the D0 wire from the chip is enough to get a good mobo to boot. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I have never installed that type of chip... are you doing a wire install of some sort??
I always use pin headers and solder the pin header to the LPC area and then mount the chip onto the pin header.
In a wire install, usually the harness comes with the chip and it looks to be about a 28 guage wire. I use 30AWG Wrapping wire for my DO connections and LPC rebuilds where LPC Rebuild PCBs are not used....so, 30AWG would be safe I would presume. One thing though, when you go with thin wires like wrapping wire you got to be careful of wires crossing each other so maybe a more insulated wire like 28 guage would be best. Also, try to stick to single stranded wire.
Let me know how you are installing this chip maybe we can get you some more definitive answers..
later bro

Ok thx, I was just asking cuz I order a kit of wires, but the one you are talking is the one that Radioshack sell?
ok I'm doin pin headers and creating the LPC, here is the image I'm using click here.
But I didn't use the BT that show on that one, I use the alternate BT that you can see it here.
I'm goin to wait for my wires and I let you know how it goes, and I'm goin to do the Original BT, not the Alternate. To see if that help my problem. Thanks a lot, anything can help me post it, please!!
