How much would you pay for an Xbox developer kit??? I have limited time, so if you can help please help now, my offer has been accepted(I will not disclose for how much)but I need help deciding. What do you think it is worth? It looks so good they are supposed to go for 10K. What should I do? _________________ XBOX V:X

Win the lottery, lol
You wonder why there are so many homebrew ppl using copied/hacked versions of XDK (or legal alternatives like OpenXDK).
I'll agree with forahobby, it'll consist of a Debug Xbox and legit XDK.

It's crazy lookin, It has extra ports in the back. An supposedly if you flash it wrong its dead!! maybe its only taboo. It's in a clear case that says Developer kit. It looks real, and I have the money, If you guys think it's worth 10K I'm doing it, definately!! _________________ XBOX V:X

I don't really think it's worth $10,000 for the fact that the Xbox 2 is coming out in the next couple of years and everyone will move on to that. If this deal happened not long after the Xbox was released it would be worth it, as you would get years of value, but not really now.
This is just my opinion anyways, I'm not meaning to persuade you one way or the other...

Youre right, but it all depends on the Xbox 2, I have like 2 systems now what the hell would a third hurt? And if like the ps1 and the ps2, the OG Xbox should prevail for a while as far as apps and dashboards go, right? XDK's would be a good commodity, wouldn't they?

Yes, indeed owning a XDK would be nice, and definately something you can show off to the grandkiddies as a part of nostalgiic game consoles (hehehe).
It's hard to say how much you would pay for it coz you'd still have to buy a legit copy of XDK (you'd still need to buy Visual Studio .NET to use it though), so even after you buy the XDK set you still need to spend more cash.
Honestly I wouldn't pay anything over $2000 - $3000.

Well if the grandkids are here In a couple of years(when Xbox 2 comes out), then I'm cool. And I think they'd like it!. Thank you very much, for a speedy response, I'm buying it hopefully for what I wan't(due to your help!!!). If I get, I hope you can help!? I got Visual studio, from somewhere, but i can't get that installed correctly, can't wait to get the Xdev. It probably will work correctly when the grandkids are here! _________________ XBOX V:X

OK. Visual Studio .NET is a weird app but here's how you install it:
1) Insert CD 1 and let it autorun (our use setup.exe)
2) Most of the time the program will now ask you to enter CD 5 for updates.
3) Install updates, then put CD 1 back in, if the main options menu doesn't show run setup.exe
4) It should now allow you to install it (after a CD Key ofcourse).
It is a bitch of a program sometimes and it'll take me a couple of attempts sometimes, but in the end it works.
BTW, with the XDK you have to put Visual Studio .NET on first (well atleast with how I've used it).
