Well, that's definately a different approach to using SID, I'm impressed. BTW people, this would actually be the safest way because it doesn't actually alter the HDD. I would personally lose patience after a while having to insert the original game everytime to boot a dashboard, but then again I don't use Xbox Live and wouldn't really have to think about what would be the safest way to have a modded box at the same time.
You know, you didn't even really have to modify the XML file, you could have just used the file manager to navigate and launch the XBE of your choice, but you've put the extra effort in and modded my code.
About you wanting to be a softmod admin, that day may come soon. Loki was picked mainly due to the fact he was a current admin (News Admin), so really all he's getting is more responsibilities. However, because of this little stunt you've pulled here (hehe) I think we're gonna have to keep an eye on you in the future.
One question to you though, and it's something that I've been asking myself for a while now, why the f@#k do you write such short lines??

Yes I'd like to know what's happened to Dark_Rebel also, he was doing fine just before and after we appointed him to Softmod Admin, but not he's just disappeared.
Loki, we could still probably take another softmod admin though, because of the increased popularity with softmodding. Personally I have no problems with it, just as long as Forahobby agrees (which I'm thinking he probably will).

Spoke with Forahobby this afternoon, and your Admin status will be upgraded to News + Softmod Admin / Moderator. Since you're already an Admin / Moderator you should have the access you need already. If there's anything missing that you need just me or FH know.
Your main responsibilities as a softmod admin would be to look after VIP Tickets (which you should have access to), and responding to softmod questions. The exsisting softmod admins actually had the chance to test SID 3 while it was still in production, however I don't really think I could see myself making another SID, I "maybe" make a SID 3 Lite or something based on Blighty's idea (read the above post for more info) coz I don't mind this idea at all.

We will ofcourse need more help but we dont want to get too many at once.. It takes time to setup each admin etc tec.

No seriously thats what we are talking about.. We need our admins/mods to experiment themselves.. So we have a well rounded group of guys here to support the xbox now and in the future

I was talking to Sjohn earlier today about this technique too, I think he said that he has tried this aswell with success.
But yea, basically like FH said, the more imput / experimenting the admins / testers can put in, it will benefit all of us in the end.

I ended up making a prototype of SID 3 Lite last night, which basically works like is explained here in this post:
Here's a snippet from the release notes that I'm writing

This is a simple version that doesn't install any softmod files to your Xbox's C Drive, instead it just runs from the gamesave. However, in order for the softmod to work you will have to boot your Original Xbox game (007, Splinter Cell, or Mechassault) in order to run the softmod on your Xbox. This is known to be the safest way to have a softmodded Xbox and still use Xbox Live without being banned.
Unfortunately you will not be able to use your DVD Drive, as the Xbox will reboot once it is opened. This is due to some kind of lock that is put on the DVD Drive, and once it's opened it forces a reboot of the Xbox.

I will be contatcting our softmod admins about testing soon, also Sjohn, my Gameshark software is playing up (might be my XP build atm), could you transfer the gamesaves to .GSX for me please?
My short lines are mainly because
i use my xbox & linksboks all the
time, (saves moveing the joypad
from side to side over and over to
read the whole line & the silly
little grey box freaks me out).

i can add what ever help i can to the site. i can do any mod rangeing from tsop, to solder chips, to softmods, so i can help with whatever type of problem anyone has. i've picked up a lot of knowledge this past year and want to repay the hq by helping out some. i've dont around 15 xboxes so far. i'm on the chatroom about 6-8 hours a day and have no job so i have pleanty of time to mess around with my xbox to help other people. i have all three softmod games so that i can help ppl if they have one game or another.
