Im looking for anybody in the London/N.London area who can repair xboxes. I have a machine wich was softmodded but recently just stopped working coming up with error 21. I tried unlcking it to get it into a fiends chipped machine to try and hot swap but couldnt get it going - it showed error 6 in his machine. I understand it may need to be chipped to get it going again. So anyone might know how to bring it back to life get in touch! email @ kd015g2990@blueyonder.co.uk or message me on MSN krayzk@hotmail.com
Cheers

Put a solderless chip in your machine, like a Xenium Ice.
Then, flash a hacked bios to the chip that is compatible with your version Xbox.
Use an autoinstaller to reinstall MS dash.
Remove the chip and you have a working Xbox again.
The reason you got error code 60 on his machine is because your mobo is married to your HD. Your HD will not work on another machine unless it is unlocked first, and the other machine is modded.
Contact custom-xmodz here on hq via PM maybe he can help as he is much closer to you than I.

Very similar problem over here. I had my friend's Xbox and mine hooked up to my network so I could pull files and push via the convience of my PC. So he has had some problems with his whole dash set up and he liked how mine was set up. So I overwrote the C partition he had with the one from my box. I still have his original C on my PC but I have no way of putting it back on. I thought his had a chip but unless chips go under the MOBO then I don't believe he does. Mine is also a softmod with a flashed rom. When I boot his up I get an error 21 everytime. I tried using a New HD install but and my Avalaunch boot disc but niether worked. Any help?

yep
Any probs in the uk just let me know and will do all i can to help you get up & running again.
There won;t be a chip under the mobo so he must have either a tsop flash or it's been softmodded.
if he has a tsop you should be able to boot an autoinstaller, unless of course it's having probs reading the media your using.

Apparently it' still has the M$ bios and no other mod. I managed to unlock the HD and it ran in my modded box no problems seeing as itts TSOPed. I put back the files i had deleted and everything worked peachy again as long as it was on my Xbox and not in the one it came from. It gave me the error code saying it needed to be locked. I put the HD back into my Xbox and used Configmagic or whatever it's called to lock it, it wouldnt' let me load the eeprom from the other xbox something about eeprom decryption something. So I locked it anyways and put it back into it's original home....no it yelled at me saying it couldn't unlock it. So I unlocked it with configmagic again and stuck it in my pc and locked it using the password I had unlocked it with the first time. Now it won't boot at all, still says it can't unlock it, my PC won't unlock it and nothing will read the flippin' thing.......I also don't have his orignal HD..I may be able to get it but if not can I salvage this whole thing using a modchip? Can you mod and xbox without an orignal hd or one that's locked?

heya
Ok if you locked it on the pc and now it won;t unlock it may be a paperweight, Chipping it will fix it yes, but you may also need another hard drive in it, I would have to look at it to see. But a new HD & modchip would fix

WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....Well it's a 250 gig so I'd rather not give up hope. Is there a way to nuke it and use it on a pc and possibly xbox later?

And what chip should I get? Is it possible to just flash the bios w/o a chip or something?
