i just installed a xlite2.3 mod chip with cromwell bios on it i want to get a new dashboard but i have no idea how to flash bios make images, or how to get it on the xbox....i have been reading and printing just about everything i can find but can not understand it... i dont even know where to start i also purchased a 120g hhd i want to install but i need bios first and flash the modchip or something...plz help i have no idea and have read so many articles

hey thx for the suggestion i have tried sony cd-rw cdrw650L and memorex cd-rw both at 2x and 4x. memorex does not work on the xbox and the sony plays in the xbox if i make an audio cd. is there a reason why...i am going to pick up 5 dif brands of cd-rw tonite and see if they work. i also redownloaded the app. just to make sure that wasnt it. still dont work!! i am using nero 6 ultra, selected burn image but when the burnt cd in the xbox it says flashing mode on the cromwell bios but then the disk just pops out. i reboot the xbox but the bios say please insert for flashing mode nothing shows up as if i didnt put the disk in. i have the external switch of the modchip set to: enable: unprotected: bank 1, when i flash and reboot. well hopefully it is the media so i will try others...will get back to u later tonite

tried a cd-rw that is read by xbox but my cromwell bios say...no bios update found...haulting!!!

its just a media problem..
You need to buy a couple of different brands of cdrw until you find one that works for your xbox..
my old xbox was a v1.0 with a phillips drive and would only read ARITA CDRW.. (which was the cheapest brand in australia)
Just test mate.. Once it finds the bios on the CDRW your laughing.. If you have a mate with a dvd-r burner just get him to burn one if you have too much trouble..
i tried 4 dif media and it still doesnt work. do i have to do anything w/ slayers all i do is install it and then drag it to nero select burn image and it make it saying cdrom mode 1 iso 9660 on the nero app is this right. do i have to format slayers at all or just burn as cd image. plz help _________________ xbox 1.0

it seems like the cd-rw is reading but it says "no bios update found...halting!!!" does this mean i have to install a new bios before i install slayers. again i am using a xecuter lite 2.3plus modchip with cromwell 2.83 bios that were preinstalled with the modchip. when i put slayers disk in it says "no bios update found...halting!!!" when i drag slayers down to nero to copy it has an icon of a cd with a music sign and a folder. when i put the curser on slayers it says easy cd creater image 216mb. sorry for being impatient but i want to do this badly and cant wait!!! well hope to here back from u soon _________________ xbox 1.0

Maybe your burning it at to high of a speed. You could burn it at the lowest possible speed and then try the media again. _________________ Xbox V1.4

Its too bad you didnt get the pro . I could have walked you through the whole process. I find its very easy to use XBM2 (bios mgr) . If you end up getting a lite programmer I could probably help you then. If it was so easy to burn internally I wonder if they would make the lite programmer? Can someone also upload this file to the DOWNLOADS SECTION for all the guys.. I dont really have much experience with xecuters but would still like the software required to flash it uploaded and maybe a tutorial added whenever someone gets the time and energy lol..
Maddogtime just did a great IN FORUM tutorial on how to flash the new XBIT.. Seems like a piece of cake and hope that the xecutor is just as easy for all the newbies.

ok i finally got slayers to be read in my xbox but now i am trying to put a new 120g hhd in i follow the instructions but i get error code 13. can someone plz tell me what i am doing wrong. i formated chose rebuild new large hhd when it is done i am i supposed to have evox and everything installed because when i remove the disk it just goes back to xecuter bios(i think it looks alot like m$). well plz help if u can thx _________________ xbox 1.0

hi mate,
Well if you can boot slayers auto installer you must have flashed your BIOS ok??? Did you?? I guess so!!!
One prob:
You may have a bios that only boots to c:\ and looks for xboxdash.xbe..
DO THIS:
1. setup a network with your pc and xbox..
- A cross-over cable IS NEEDED for direct connection from your pc network card to xbox.
- A normal RJ45 network lead IS NEEDED for connecting to your pc through a hub/switch/router etc..
2. Download and install FLASHFXP
3. When Slayers Auto Installer boots it should give you a ip address..
4. Ftp into your xbox using the ip the slayers is showing on the screen..
example for FLASHFXP to connect via FTP from PC to xbox:
ftp: 192.168.0.2 (xbox)
port: 21
user: xbox
pass: xbox
Once connected to your Xbox you want to go into the C:\ partition and tell us what files you have..
its just not finding the evox.xbe because the bios your running (im guessing) is probably looking for a file called xboxdash.xbe and you dont have it..
I think you need to just rename evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe..
