Okay, I installed the x-chip in a version 1.1. I used the hard drive and dvd-rom drive from a 1.6, and I am getting error code 06. Does anyone have an idea of what I should do?

You can't do that. DVD Drive doesn't matter, but the HD is locked ot the other motherboard.
Once a HD is locked to a specific mobo, it's like geese. They are mates for life
Until you use a mod chip to unlock the HD, and then relock it to a different drive, it will continuously give you error code 06.
This is why its very important to only lock your motherboard when when you want to play on XBL. Because say you install a 300GB HD to a machine and lock it to the motherboard and that motherboard takes a shit.
You now have a 300GB paperweight. The HD from the 1.6 needs to stay with the 1.6. The only way it will work with the 1.1 is if you unlocked it with the 1.6 mobo. Then, installed it to the 1.1 and locked it to the 1.1
I have about 10 unlocked stock HD's. They will work with any modded Xbox. Please let me know if you need one. $10.00 shipped anywhere in the US. This is just to cover shipping and handling. Also, if you want I can go ahead and install EvoX and some applications on the HD for you since you are a VIP member.

It means the HD you have is locked and the EEPROM doesnt match the motherboard....Can you boot up a game, If so you can slap AID on a dvd-r and use that to change the EEPROM or unlock the drive.....IF not you'll have to find the motherboard it came from and unlock the drive...but If you installed your chip correctly (BIOS and all) it should be able to read the drive regardless of the EEPROM or whether or not its locked. Hope you get it figured out...if not post some more info (ie BIOS dash where you got the parts ect ect) _________________ Xbox v1.0
