Just as an experiment i installed a 20gb HDD into my chipped xbox. followed every step in the tuts on installing it got it to boot fine but it will not save games on the F: which has about 11GB on it. The F: is enabled in my settings but to no avail. Why cant i use my F: now i have a bigger HDD

I would start over, it should work for you.
What happens when you use DVD2Xbox to put a game on the F drive??
Do you get an error, or does it just not show up when you save to it.
Did you use an installer to format and install your apps?? Wondering if your structuring is all screwed up maybe and some folders are needed.
