Hey guys. Was hoping if anyone can help me. I'm not new to sottmodding the old xbox's. My friend recently bought an xbox 1.6 (K:5838 D:5960). Knowing that the old fonts dont work on the newer xbox, I used the UDE 2 exploit. I used the tutorial on xbox scene on UDE 2. I didnt use the action replay to ftp the xbox. What I did was (using my modded xbox) put the two xbox together and open them up. I turned on my friends xbox to unlock the drive. Then I turned on my xbox to load the slayors evox installer. Right when my xbox shows the xecuter2 logo i hotswap my hd with my friends hd. The evox cd boots and my friends hd is now read as my own xbox hd (which lets me ftp with that hard drive under my xbox). I followed the guide for UDE 2 (except i didnt use 007,MA,Action replay,etc). I copied the patched update.xbe from the NFL Fever. renamed to xboxdash.xbe and ftp to the root of C:. Then I loaded the font 6.0 bert-ate-ernie-5838-01.xtf to the C:\Fonts directory (I renamed the original Fonts dir to F0nts with a zero) as well as the font 7.0 ernie.xtf. After all that I ftp nkpatcher in the root of E:. Then I ftp the evox 3935 to the root of C: (while renaming the default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe). That should be everything i need for the UDE 2 exploit right? I signed everything just in case they werent signed. I ftp the fonts,update.xbe,nkpatcher,evox. Is there anything i missed? When I load the xbox it gives me a error 21 and says needs to be serviced. I tried to be as detailed as possible. Hope anyone can help me resolve this and get my friend's xbox up and running. Dunno whether this helps but from my past experience trying to do my box the UDE2 Softmod only works with NTSC xboxs if you have PAL you have to rewrite the eeprom to make it region 1. I have a PAL 1.6 crystal and I had to use the UXE softmod which worked excellent all I did was FTP to my box backup the c and e drives. I then had a file called uxe-complete.bz2 and copied the contents of the uxe-updatefonts71 folder across to the xbox rebooted and all ok running latest evoxdash.
Think there is some new auto uxe installers on the downloads section think its VIP only though that look like they boot from the game save and auto install everything.

UXE is the successor to UDE2, it is a bit more stable and works with all known xboxes at the moment. I would suggest trying to load it. Where did you get this ude2 package, it almost sounds like you split apart a game save like ltools and just placed the files where they need to go.

hello sjohn yes I've been trying to learn everything I can about modding the new xbox 1.6. I've only really worked with the 1.1-1.5 versions. So this new version of xbox puzzles me. Yes since I have a modded xbox i just do hotswap and put my friends xbox hd in there and start ftping the files needed for the exploit. I do not have access to ltools im not a vip member. I've gotten most of the ude2 files from xbox-scene and some other usual places. Don't know many. Well anyway if you can help me out with getting this UXE to my friends xbox I would really appreciate it. Thanks again.
