could anyone tell me if there is a rebuild possible or necessary for earlier model xbox's (1.1 if possible) when using the Aladdin Xt chip? no matter how the chip is installed, the Xbox won't recgonize the chip's bios. The lights flash orange and red correctly when the chip is turned on, but the bios on the chip seems not to be recgonized. The chip is flashed correctly with an xecutor bios (had to flash it externally) and I have tried everything, all alternate methods of installing the chip (according to xeno chip) and I'm just wondering if anyone could please help me.
thanks

Hi Flex - sounds like it's booting up on the new BIOS - but the BIOS may not be complete. It also seems like it has accepted the BIOS but hasn't continued on to load the rest of the system into RAM from the Hard Drive. The BIOS is not incomplete enough to cause an error though I'm expecting. Probably the best thing to confirm this is to try a new chip - the older machine only requires an inexpensive mod chip - where abouts are you located? I could try one of my older chips for you if your nearby.

thanks, its really nice of you to offer your chip, but I was installing one for my friend, and I think it just may be his machine (because the same chip worked in another machine) and I already ordered a new chip to try that one, thanks a lot for your offer though, i really appreciate it.
