I've had a modded xbox for ages. But for a few years, the disc drive has been broken, and I haven't been able to play any xbox games that I didn't already copy the game to my hard drive. I bought a replacement but it stopped working soon after I got it installed. And looking at the prices for replacement drives... I'm thinking maybe I should look into other methods.

Is there any way I can copy a game disc to my hard drive through my PC? Like, read and copy the disc on my PC and then copy the files to my hard drive via ftp.
I recall discovering some time ago that the game data isn't visible to a normal PC, so I know I'd need some kind of special program to do this.

I'm not sure if you can dump Xbox games straight from the disc I believe you need a special drive for that but you can download them from the internet and then FTP them to your console you would just need to source the games online.

Every site I've found sharing xbox games has only had them as isos, which is not something I can use like this. The xbox doesn't read data as an image file, but as files.

You can use a homebrew app called extractISO

Well that looks handy!
I suppose I could copy my game to an iso and then use this to extract the files?
If not, I guess I'll just fire up the ol' virus protection software and start looking for an iso online.
Thanks!
