I love this dashboard..
Really sets of the xbox and its capabilites..
Its been out for a while as a multi-disk menu system but now has been developed further as a dashboard..
If anyone needs help just ask.. DJB, myself and XDOX are currently running MDM Dash as our XBOX DASHBOARDS.
btw.. you dont need to remove evox at all..
The main reason i love this dashboard so much is that you can play video files in the background of the dashboard and music and whilst you are browsing it will also play a sample video of a application..
I downloaded the dashboard with the matrix skin, which is working fine. I am little confused which files i need to make it work. I figure i need the .xbe file, the skin directory and mxm.xml. The mxm.xml file only has the path of the skin. Is the mxm.xml file for the skin path only? I guess im looking for what each of the files do? Also, how do i do video captures? _________________ XBOX v1.5

ok..
Really you only need these files to start:
1. evoxdash.xbe (which is the mediaXmenu Dashboard)
2. MXM.xml (stores the skins directory config)
Once you have booted MXMenu Dash it will automatically scan your Hard drive for .xbe's.. It will then list them in Games or Apps etc so you can choose them.. This is the simple way. It will create a file called 'cache_menu.xml'
If you want to configure your own Custom Menus do this:
1. Let MediaXMenu Dashboard start.
2. Now to Turn ON Enable Menu Cacheing:
- Press the 'Orange' Y button on the controller.
- Highlight 'Configure' and press 'Green' X button on the controller
- Highlight 'Skins & Misc Settings' and press 'Green' X button on the controller
- Highlight 'Enable Menu Cacheing' and make sure 'YES' is selected.
3. Reboot your xbox
4. Create a 'cache_menu.xml' file as below:
Heres my MXM menu config which has 'Games' , 'Emulators' and 'Applications'
5. make sure you change the settings (autodir) ABOVE to reflect the directories on your own xbox.. Everyone is different.
6. Copy the cache_menu.xml to the root of c:\ or if you are running as a application (not a dashboard) then add it in the directory where the MediaXMenu is located.
Thats it..
But one prob im having is when i add something new i have to copy over the ABOVE cache_menu.xml and reboot.. It then adds everything automatically again..
I think im still doing something a little wrong but im damn happy so far..
talk soon guys and thanks to xdox for uploading and showing of the MATRIX SKIN (its all about choice) video..
perfect...thats the information I was looking for. _________________ XBOX v1.5

Forahobby, you mentioned that you don't have to remove evox, do end up with two default.xbe? or do you change evox to some thing different?

right now your evox dashboard should be in your c: as evoxdash.xbe. Rename this to evox.xbe and rename your default.xbe (mxm) to evoxdash.xbe. This assumes that your bios boots to evoxdash.xbe first. By doing this, you will have both dashboards on your HDD. _________________ XBOX v1.5

Would renaming the evox allow you to boot evox, mxm, and M$ dash? I'm sure from what I've seen from the MXM website I will not want to use evox, just wondering..
