well..
i did this.
1. TURNED ON MENU CACHING..
2. Then i copied my .xml file called menu_cached.xml to the root of your mxmMENU.. Its basically very simliar to evox so you cant go wrong really.. (similar thats it) _________________ HQ Network:

The main mxm file is called "MXM.xml" and should be in the first folder you open up. But when I got mine it was all messed up code left and right that wasn't even right. Anyways though first off you need to create a xml file. You can make one in notepad. Now just insert this code in there.
Code:
< C o n f i g >
< I t e m >
< T i t l e>Grand Theft Auto: Vice City< / T i t l e >
< D e s c r i p t i o n >Fun shooting game< / D e s c r i p t i o n >
< / I t e m >
< / C o n f i g >
DON"T INCLUDE THOSE SPACES I PUT IN THE THERE I JUST HAD TO SINCE IT THOUGHT THEY WERE HTML.
Now of course the title and description will be different depending on what your game is I just used that as an example. Now after you fill out your title and description you save this file as "MXM_Entry.xml" now put that in whatever game your making the preview for. Now for the actual preview you will of course need a preview, so a picture or video etc will work. Not all types of files work. So lets say we have a mpeg movie for our preview. So you will name your file "MXM_SS.mpeg" just the first "MXM_SS" part is most important the last part is just the file extension. So if you had a jpg picture it would be "MXM_SS.jpg" and so on and so forth for other file types. Hope that helps. _________________ Xbox V1.4

I would like to try this Dash but I can't find a copy of it. I cannot log on to the VIP FTP site but I can access the VIP HTTP download area. Could someone please upload it to there for me to try.
Thanks Chris

Boy, I'd really like to add this dash. I have never even had to configure evox as it was already done for me, so natually I am a little timid. I have avalaunch, but have 99.9% of the time used EvoX.
Maybe I will give it a try and see how bad I screw things up. Would this be something that could be included in an autoinstaller? Hint..Hint... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I just unzipped it, and there is a nice word doc in there giving all kinds of different install advice.
Just in case anyone downloads and didn't realize...cuz I didn't know at first.
I am going to install as an app right now and see how it goes from there. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

hey realmccloy,
really, just install it as a application first.. Then move on to making it your dashboard..
Really all your have to do is rename the default.xbe (mediaxmenu) to evox.xbe.. Reboot your xbox and your away.. The only other thing from memory was the skins directory has to be set..
Dont forget you can always you Xbox-Hq Auto-Installer v1.0/v1.1 to just reinstall the dashboard if you make a mistake.. Your xbox will always boot as long as your modchip is on and you will be able to use the auto installers to put evox back (if you stuff it, which i doubt).

Well, that was one of the things that I knew I had to do (rename something), but when I look at the files there is already a file named "evoxdash.xbe".
I tried installing it as an app exactly like I did with XBMC and upon reboot it's not showing up in my autoinstalled app area like the XBMC did. And, with the XBMC I changed nothing. Just FTP'd, rebooted, joy.
When I was looking at my menu contents in the evox.ini file, I saw that all the auto added apps ended in default.xbe. I thought possibly I had to change the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe and then it would show up on my menu and allow me to launch it, but I guess that is wrong. I didn't try it yet as I wanted to get some feedback before I changed any of the MXM files. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Yup, that was it.
I took the chance and renamed the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe and then it worked.
Now I get to play.
I confused what you were talking about renaming to default.xbe
You must have been talking about when I make the choice to make MXM my dashboard of choice.
I am getting a generic skin right now, not the matrix one. I changed the xml file to point to E: instead of C: for skin locations, but still not happening..got more playing to do _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Can you tell I got it done...
Very awesome, I see no reason not to make this my regular dash. Now, we need a cool XBOX-HQ MXM Skin. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

hahhaha.. Easy wasnt it! hehehe!
Glad to see you like it too..
Im running evox again since i upgraded my hard drive to 160gb
because i havent had a chance to get mediaxmenu back on..
Ill do it this weekend.. Im actually thinking about making a similar
skin to the matrix but with xbox hq stuff but lets see how much time i get this weekend!
Put it in it's own directory because I wanted to run it as an App. Edited the xml file to point to the skins directory but it lust starts with no skin at all!
