Hi all I think this is my first post on here...
Having an issue with the following original game
Tmnt 3 mutant nightmare
I was testing it on a 1.4 xbox and it absolutely hated the disc, wouldn't go above 1mb/ sec when I tried putting it on the hdd with dvd2xbox
Then tried my crystal xbox and it loved it, copied it at nearly 6mb/sec
I think one drive is a Philips and the other a Samsung. They are usually fairly similar when testing games...
Has any body got any ideas why it's so different?? Or had any similar
Experiences? Thanks for reading

Thats not really surprising. Those drives are pushing 15 years of use so long past any warranty and are bound to start showing their age. I run a Philips V2 drive which was easily the most AK-47 take any shit kicking and keep on ticking drive on XBOX and even it does the same thing and Im forced to hook up my backup Hitachi drive to read a disc or accept super slow read speeds. Best thing you can do is look on Ebay/Amazon etc for the Hitachi replacement drives. They only went into factory refurb XBOXs so are the newest of any drive and should have the least wear and tear.
