So
I have figured out how to put the ROMS into Final Burn.
Some work. Some done. No big deal. Trial and error mostly. Seems that the bigger files are the naughty ones!
However, I am up to 100 odd games. All work. All great fun. Great mix od the 80's and early 90's.
Forgot how cool Ninja Warriers was. I remember that 3 screen monster blowing my mind when I was a kid!!
My question now is, how the hell do you get the artworkand intro vids into the cabs on the menus.
Most of the ROMS I have dont have any files in the art folder....
I am pretty good with graphics so I can probably make my own if I know the file format and size etc. Just cant work out there they need to be on the emulator..and how to do it for that matter..
Thanks in advance.
PS Sorry if there is already a thread for this. I did search and ccouldnt see anything.

The easiest way is with the FBL-TG16 Xtras Installer. The other method would be to download Floydthebarbers FBL Xtras pack and manually FTP the files to the XBOX
Marquees go in the Images/Marquee folder and videos go in the Video folder. Just make sure they are named to match the ROM and should work OK.

Morning
I have downloaded the installer from the ISO zone (I hope its the right one) onto my laptop.
I have also downloaded 4 sets of ROMS (yours?) from the site and put them into a separate folder. So much goodness in there I dont know where to begin.
My 8 year old is currently addicted to Wonderboy and Cotton!
What am I supposed to do with the installer? DO I fileziller it over to the xbox - or run it on the laptop first?
Also - what will it do to the stuff that is on the xbox at the moment?

Since you have a stock XBOX you will need to burn the ISO to dvd at 8x. Then just pop it in like any XBOX game and launch.
Before using it you will need to rename your Final Burn Legends folder. You want it to be named this
Final Burn Legends 1.12
Other wise the files will get put in the wrong spot and you will have to manually move them
Once thats done pop in the disc and launch it. Click on Xtras Installer then click on Install To E Drive. You will see a list of options you want the first 2. Install FBL Artwork and Install FBL Images. Just click on them one at a time and let it do its thing and it will tell you when its done.

Houston.
We have a problem.
The only option I get with the DVDs at x2 speed.
not sure if this is just my laptop (Lenovo Z500 so its quite old)
Will it not work if i burn at X2 speed?

It depends on the disc, most dont support below 8x. 2x sounds like a Bray drive most DVDRW-RAM drives do 4x 8x and 16x

No dice.
The ISO is on there but the xbox doesn't want to read the disc. Lord knows why it'll only burn at x2 speed. I think its my crappy DVD software. Will see what I can download.

You can pull the files off the disc. Just use CXBOX Tools to extract the ISO and look in the FILES folder there will be 2 zip files marked FBL, just extract them and FTP the contents over to the XBOX-FBL folder

Hi guys, I just thought I'd let you both know that I have updated the VIP FTP SERVER with a whole bunch of boxart if you interested.. I think we have original XBOX covers + GENESIS and SEGA CD so far.. All custom.
No dice.

Speed should not matter. I did my own test a couple of years ago with every Xbox disc drive I have and speed/burning program, in most cases, were irrelevant. So x8, as SPPV recommends, should be as good as any.
DVD-R is the only universally Xbox disc drive compatible media, closely followed by DVD+R. Philips and Samsung 605B drives do not like DVD+R although the latter, for some reason, does burn OK with my preferred ImgBurn but not others. That's one inconsistency I can not explain.
DVD-R, at least on my system, using Philips, Verbatim, Maxell and various supermarket own brands all show a minimum burn speed of x4 with ImgBurn (recommended).
That's what I always use and I can say, hand on heart, I've not a had a burn failure due to anything but particular batch issues.
Problems can occur if either the PC disc drive or Xbox are old and the laser is past its best or just dirty. I've come across this many times when people are reporting burn problems and been through the whole gamut of possible causes without luck. They clean the Xbox disc drive or clean/replace their PC's disc drive and it works first time.

The Phillips and Maxell are both RITE-K discs which I find to be the best. We used to get 4x ones up here under the Fuji name but havent in years. Now all the RITE-K and Verbatim (my #2) seem to be minimum speed 8x
And certainly agree on using Imgburn, its 1,000,000 times better than any bundled MS burn software ever is.

Thanks guys
These are DVD R-W
Not sure if that makes a difference. I will try another now.
If I FTP the files what folder in Final burn do they need to go in?
I have to 2 zip files from the ISO - do I need to extract them first?
