Post subject: USB files to Xbox failure after HDD upgrade

I haven't been able to find my USB flash drive in the file transfer on XBMC since my HDD has used F and G partitions. I also tried looking with Boxplorer and Xcommander.

The USB used to show up as the F Partition, now I can't find the flash drive except for in the M$ dash, from where I can't do anything with the files. The recommended formatting to FAT32 and FAT16 did not help the Xbox ID the USB.

I tried moving everything from G to F and deleting G, but still no USB. How can I get the little turd to occupy G or show at all? I use a standard male controller port to female USB cable and a previously tested, compatible USB drive.

If you had an extended partition, how did the flash drive show up as F. That's a default format either by chip or softmod. The flash would show up as a letter higher than g and lower than w.

The HDD I had before the upgrade was the stock. Which is why I am guessing it must have occupied F before the upgrade. When I made my upgrade HDD I set all the extended space to F.

Anyway, thank you for replying to this because I forgot to mention that I resolved the situation when I tried a later build of XBMC, now XBMC does read and write to all my USB flash drives again. Although UnleashX and the file manager apps I mentioned still don't strangely.

No worries, glad its all good.
What build are you using for unleash? Maybe go down a version. To be honest I never had issues with the older versions.

Now that I set XBMC as my dash I can't quite tell. I suppose I could add unleash to my apps folder, launch it and check, but I hesitate to that, because I used openxdk to change the dash and that could cause boot trouble.

All I know is my Evo dash was 3935, but I really don't mind the other file managers not finding my usb's for now. Especially for roms and emuls, the only jobs I have for USB's, I only need one functioning file manager right? lol

I would just FTP for every transfer, but until I get a new PCI card I have to move my whole setup between rooms for one transfer session. So I really like having the USB's for small files.
