I installed Xplorer360 beta 6 and copied the MSVCR71.dll file to my system32 folder and my SysWOW64 folder so it worked for one time and now it has an error "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000ba). Click ok to close the application." I have a 64 bit windows 10 PC and its an intel CPU i7 4930K 6 cores 12 threads and 64 GB RAM, I will try another PC I have its a Win XP PC low end for old games but is there a fix for the (0xc00000ba)? I am at the stage of getting SID 5.11 on my USB, is there another progie to copy SID across to the USB?

I just tried my XP PC and I get the same....

From your exact description I think you may have inadvertently made an install error.

With a 64 bit system you should only install the MSVCR71.dll in the SysWOW64 folder not both that and the System32 folder as it sounds as if you have done.

With a separate Windows XP machine you should install it only in the Windows > System32 folder. That should be all there is so why it doesn't work with XP is a problem. Are you using XP as a VM or a dual boot set up on the Win7 machine. I don't know if or even why that might affect Xplorer360 but it might do.

The most obvious suggestion is to check that the DLL is still present in the appropriate folder. If it is and isn't working then, obviously, find a new download and try that. This is what I used yesterday:-

http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/fix-msvcp71-dll-and-msvcr71-dll-missing-error-in-windows-7/

But if it isn't there I'm not sure what might be going on. Admin rights issues perhaps?

I installed both DLLs from here as described but, so far, only to my new PC with freshly installed XP. Xplorer360 is launching and working correctly 24hrs later.

I'm just off to install it on my Win7 PC. I'll report back here if that was successful and if there were any later problems such as you've described.

EDIT

Installed it on a Win7 Pro 64 bit PC as stated. Same files as I used with Win Pro XP 32 bit but put in the Windows > SysWOW64 instead.

Xplorer360 launched correctly first time has done since.

I didnt get around to trying your suggestions as I tried Xplorer360 beta 5 before your reply and for some reason it worked I dont know why though I left the dll files where they were so maybe it was nothing or a combination of the beta 5 and the dll files.

The Xplorer360 I've used successfully for almost six years is shown as Xplorer360.beta6 with file version 0.10.0.1.

I know I had another copy which was a different version, almost certainly earlier, but once I found the beta6 one worked I don't remember even trying the other.

I can't tell you where I got it because I don't remember, probably via Xbox-Scene, but I know the same version is still available elsewhere because I've just downloaded and tested it.

Perhaps your copy of the beta6 version was corrupted in some way. Always worth re-downloading, preferably from a different source, in such circumstances.

Google Xplorer360 0.10 and look for a place that isn't offering the 0.9 file version.
