Hey, hoping for some guidance/insight into a problem I'm having with 3 different original xboxes. I have a 1.0, a 1.2, and a 1.6 version and all 3 are acting the same way so must be something I am doing, but not sure what. The softmods went fine, used various methods but mainly xboxhdm and Hexen/AID 4.53. Any/all emus I install stop responding on start...I also noticed that InvaderX and DoomX lock up as well. I have tried different dashboards (Avalaunch/UnleashX and EvoX) nothing seems to matter as soon as the emu and or game starts the controller stops responding. The other clue is that XBMC works fine, so do original games ripped to the hdds.
Anyone have any ideas? I have eeprom backups so rebuilding a Hdd is child's play. I have tried different settings in ndure 3.0/3.1 but not positive what area to focus on given the above problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi.
I have been having exactly the same problem. Emulators start up ok, but will not play roms. I did softmod with ndure.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

No one has any ideas? Seems odd that 2 of us are having the same symptoms, must be a setting in ndure that we're missing? I have tried various options with nkpatcher no shadow c, virtual eeprom etc. I'll keep trying and post any successes

Hey, no worries about hijacking the thread. You actually gave me the motivation to try again and somehow I managed to get them all going! I can honestly say I don't know what I did wrong the first 900 times I tried but I documented my steps and can say without a doubt this worked on all 3 xboxes I was having trouble with.
Everything is covered in various tutorials , but a few areas that I think might have been my issue....I was using ndure 3.0 not 3.1, I was letting ndure copy directly to the xboxhdm folder or it was one of the UDDAE or nkpatcher options. so here are the steps/tools I used:
ndure 3.1 (I got a new copy from Xbins)
Xboxhdm 1.9 (google)
Stock 5960 dash files (SLayer's)
Your eeprom.bin for your hdd
1) Extract Xboxhdm to root of C:\
2) Copy eeprom.bin to C:\xboxhdm\linux\eeprom\
3) Put stock 5960 dash files in C:\xboxhdm\linux\C\
4) Run ndure 3.1 leave defaults checked...add kernel and select your kernel and select make xboxhdm script
5) Have ndure copy to a folder outside of xboxhdm...I did mine to c:\rebuild but whatever
6) Copy or move C:\Rebuild\ndure folder to to C:\xboxhdm\linux\
7) Go to ndure folder rename ndure\ndure.htm to just "ndure" no extension
Run make-iso-win.bat in xboxhdm folder this will create linux.iso...should be roughly 578MB
9) Burn ISO to CD or DVD
10) Connect xbox HDD to PC and boot from CD/DVD created above
11) Option 3 and unlock HDD
12) Reboot PC with CD still in drive
13) Option 1 this time to run xboxhdm
At prompt type xboxhd
Choose option 1 to build a new harddrive
answer yes to all prompts
after it completes...quit and type reboot
14) On reboot choose option 1 again
15) This time type xbrowser
16) From left side hit Enter on the ndure folder, then enter on ndure again...this will start the ndure script
17) Once ndure starts up select option 1 to install ndure files....answer yes to any/all prompts
1 After it completes its should go back to xbrowser, hit F10 to exit and wait for it to complete "Checking permissions on HDA"
19) Reboot again and choose option 3 to lock HDD
20) Poweroff and connect HDD to XBOX and cross your fingers
I'd be interested to hear if this works for you. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to check back and see how you did!

You guys probably just need to clear your E:\Cache folder and your X;, Y: and Z: partitions. Those are just caches and sometimes the files in them can become corrupted, causing programs/games to hang. _________________
