I was in the processing of FTPing Chimp to my xbox, I may have had some other apps in my queue it seemed like alot of files went into the xbox HDD and went I rebooted the xbox to see if it reconized my HDD it wouldnt boot into the dash
I also tried playing Splinter cell and playing a slayer CD-R I burnt niether of them will seem to load the screen just sticks at the Xbox boot logo with microsoft under it.
any siggestions?
UPDATE: I kept trying and trying the disc and I got splintercell to boot once and now I cant get it again, so maybe if there is something wrong with the way I burnt the Slayer CD-R I used the samer settings in IMGburn that I use to burn my xbox 360 disc,
Hope this helps.

Do you own a soft or hard modded console? If you're using the slayer disk, it sounds like you got a hard modded console to me?
If you have an old PATA drive compatible computer, I might suggest using a program similar to xboxhdm like SPPV's autobuilder or babylon to rebuild the drive from scratch.

The xbox is soft modded, I didnt know the slayer disc was for hard mods. If I dont have an older computer is there any other way to go about hooking the drive up to your PC?
Thanks for ghe fast response.

Damn I like the computer approach myself. SPPV made things pretty easy for me. CHIMP I have no experience with myself. There is another person who is on here named KenM-64 who may be able to lend some advice

Ok I will try to contact him, do you know of any adapters that might make it possible for me to hook this HDD up to my desktop or laptop?
Thanks for all your help.

I looked into rebuilding my HDD from scratch it seems to be pretty difficult, I dont know if I have EEPROM and if I do I dont know where to find it.

Is your HDD stock or large drive.
It sounds like your DVD drive is not reading disc's properly,
Will Splinter/C game cold boot(game in drive and then power it on)
Can you get a good DVD drive from another Xbox to try booting with.

I unplugged and replugged them in, they also seem to be connected to the motherboard pretty well. could there be a laser replacement I could if its a bad drive? I feel like it might be because hours ago when the dash was still crashed, the Splinter Cell game loaded and I havent been able to get it to since then.

The best way to build HDD is with an old Pentium4 or AMD computer that has IDE ports.
Some DVD drive Laser are available to buy on Ebay or other placers.
You need to find your model of your DVD drive to get the right Laser for it.

Stock drive has to stay locked to that Xbox so you can backup the Eeprom
with Evo or another app before you can build another HDD in a computer.
Your DVD drive is faulty and is corrupting the loading of your dashboard.

First off, what were you FTP'ing when it froze??
Secondly, my drive is not the best either but I know when I cold boot SPlinter Cell, it takes a couple minutes to boot up.
This can re-do softmods 24x on CD-R or 4x on DVD-R
If not, you need to have your EEPROM on your computer backed up, and try to rebuild the drive.
There are two things that could be wrong
A) You nuked your dash
B) Your HDD is going out (Listen for clicking or what sounds like the drive stops reading then starts making noise again)
ALSO: IF you installed your softmod as a dualboot, then try turning it on with the eject button. _________________ XBox v1.0
