So heres the story:
Hotswap mod with Sid5 Babylon.
Loaded xboxhdm, selected option 1
Formatted and loaded files
Started up xbox with new hdd and saw ms dash, no xbmc.
Checked game save data and saw sid 5 exploits
(am I supposed to load game save through a game disc?)
thought this was wrong and decided to redo the hotswap
loaded audio cd, unlocked hdd, hotswap and selected option 1)
Formatted and when asked to install c and e files, answered no because I changed my mind and..
wanted to copy hdd to 500gb hdd, failed of course, no data to copy! duh
turned off computer to restart, oh crap.... hdd locked no c
Xbox gave error 6 (I think, or 7) when using blank hdd
Crap crap crap.....
Tried error 12 unlocking, failed
tried loading a game disc, failed

Am I able to unlock or retrieve hdd password? If I were to unlock hdd and hotswap would the drive still work If I loaded xhdm c/e files? I do not have any backup of this drive or eeprom. First time soft mod. Unsure what version xbox I have, 1.6? Best thing to do in this situation is? Any advice is helpful! Shocked

Theres only 2 possibles why you would boot MSDash after doing an HDM build with Babylon.

1)You never actualy formatted the drive or installed the files (by default MSDash will not boot on power on. ALL softmods rename the MSDash xbe to prevent this)
2) You used a C and E backup instead of the Babylon files

As for the second question if you formatted the HDD and it is now empty you need the eeprom (use an eeprom reader for this) or else chip the XBOX. Otherwise to put it plainly you be fucked.

Was just going through the redent threads and noticed the Files mention in your post. PLEASE< PLEASE dont tell me you picked USB build when using the Babylon1.exe. Thats just for gamesave modding not HDM. If it was what you did, please tell me what in my read me's or vids lead to this choice so I can fix/re-word it

I am certain that I picked the disk build, I followed your directions carefully. I finally got myself an eeprom reader and currently writing up the babylon disk image with the bin file. Anxious to see the results! Thanks for watching out sppv!
