Hi all,
I am wondering if there is a way to temporarily stop symantec from quarantining my autobuilder files.
I downloaded a version of symantec for win7 for free from my uni's software program. The version I downloaded had a note saying it was preconfigured for best settings for personal computers and can't be modified or something?
Is there a simple to tell symantec program NOT to delete the autobuilder exes? If that doesn't work I'll downloaded a different version of it.
Thanks

^^ yep, AV's are known to cause this!
the quick easy way is disable it EACH TIME a custom (trusted) program is used...
false positives and file scrubs are all the rage with that shit IF you don't set it up in advance! (false positive as you'll know in this case)
if you still have te extracted archive to hand, account for the computer apps (exe's) in the AV as trusted files BEFORE you run them...the same applies to most firewalls including comodo!
i can't speak for your AV but if you try the programs in "sandbox/QUARANTINE" mode but direct the AV to trust the programs so it doesn't delete them each time!
1, quick and easy way is disable AV each time using a custom program NOT sponsored by microShit (and affiliates)
2, i little harder but easy still! direct the AV to trust the SPPV line of computer apps so you don't have to knock off the AV each time! (each individual exe used will probably need accounting for?)
3, last and not least, check user docs and support at the website to get instruction on accounting for files TRUSTED that FALSE POSITIVE the AV!
...
good luck! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

Norton is a piece of shit, pardon my French. Ever since the first Autobuilder it tagged as viral. I even sent them src asking for exclusion and bupkis. I guess cause I dont buy shitty AV they didnt care Eset/NOD32 has always been the best AV to use in conjunction with this type of app. By far the best false positive AV out there. Just sadly over the years other parts have gone lame. I switched to BitDefender, at first it tagged Autobuilder and xboxhdm exes as viral, I just excluded them and sent BD the src and they released an exclusion in the next virus definition update
