im just wondering what program is best to use for burning xbox programs
such as skins, emulators and roms trainers and trainer launchers. so my xbox will quit showing my dvd drive as empty.? ive tryed nero 12 with no
luck. right now it seems my only option for putting these items onto my xbox. and how should they be added to the dvd.? zipped or unzipped..?
thanks everybody

okay!
you mean actual files VISIBLE on a disk, NOT writing and actual iso...
IMGBURN can help but you'll need to look into the options a bit more as it's not an ISO in this case but a directory!
in fact, i don't see how any disk writing program wouldn't work for the occasion...
as much as i HATE to admit this but "alcohol120%" comes into it's own on this ONE thing!
put blank disk in disk writer and open alcohol and pre-set it to write the disk at 8x but DON'T write yet...
open a directory plane making the blank disk visible to alcohol and just fill it to capacity (or a few meg off the max) with "files" of your choice, when the plane registers at the maximum size of the disk to be written (NOT in the red but yellow or green) just hit "write" and you should get a disk with content viewed back on the computer, like any ordinary computer disk with a directory...the xbox can read content/directories....
....
another way i've just thought of BUT i haven't tried it myself.....
have a maximum of 4g of "files" you want on a disk then rebuild the directory the files are in using "cxbox tool" so it's an xbox iso (xiso) then use IMGBURN to write that iso to disk!
at that point, the disk will be readable ONLY on an xbox! (use UNLEASHX to manipulate the filehandler and copy manually by hand the files you want off the disk to the xbox hdd)
...........
1, alcohol120% is only good for writing files/directory content to disk (IMO)
2, rebuild the files in the directory they're in using "cxboxtool" (no more than 4g of file per disk MAX) then use IMGBURN to write that xiso to disk. (it's as good as an xbox iso in that respect)
..............
dig around the writer program options, for the subject at hand, you need it to add files to a disk, NOT an actual iso (imagefile) unless you go the "cxbox tool" route about it....
good luck! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

Or you could just bypass that whole fiasco and burn files to the disc using the disc burner built in to Windows natively.
what i ended up doing was i used the xbox program QUIX to create the iso
then i used imgburn to make the dvd i needed and my xbox reads it just fine.
now if i didnt have dish.net for my internet service. i could get a bigger disk made...lol but all the credit for the info goes to both of you. maybe i should write a tutorial on this subject..??? thanks again

You can also skip the whole Quix/XISO and just use Imgburn to make a 9660 ISO then burn it. Or just burn the files to disc using Imgburn. I have tons of discs made using those 2 methods. And nice thing is it allows the discs to be read by a PC if you happen to need a file or 2 off the disc for a friend or FTP.
