I have done several soft mods with the splinter cell exploit, and it doesn't get much easier than that, but I still have the first Xbox I owned that is chipped. It has Evolution X 1.6 on it and I do not remember what chip, definitely one of the first ones on the market. . I'd like to upgrade it to Unleash X. Can I basically just do the splinter cell exploit, or will this not work since there is already has a custom dash?

I've trashed a couple systems by screwing things up, but don't want to just try it on this one. May be weird but I'm a bit sentimental to this one considering it was MY original xbox. Thanks

Download UnleashX. Run XBMC or another app that allows you to FTP. FTP in and look for evoxdash.xbe/default.xbe, evox.ini, Trainers(folder) and skin(folder). Delete them. Now copy the unleashx files (evoxdash.xbe\default.xbe,config.xml, skins(folder) to where the evox files had been. If the evox xbe was named evoxdash.xbe make sure the UnleashX xbe is named the same. If it was named default, then make sure the unleashx xbe is named default.

All files should be on root of C drive or root of E drive.

Sounds simple enough. Thank you, I'll be giving it a try in a little bit.
