the TSOP bit (i've not used one) i thought it could be used on the fly, a chip overlay that programs the bios directly? (i've heard mention of actual programs for the xbox itself but i can't confirm it, would be nice though so i could do away with all the eeprom/lock/unlock madness)
something to be said for a hardmod, seriously, the prospect grows on me each day, the "on the fly" replacement of a hdd just seems like the best option for somebody with a LACK of guts (and patience when i've messed something up)
if only shambles1980 spoke to me, i'd ask him for a hardmod preinstall! Crying or Very sad

anyway, thanks for clearing it up!
i'll avoid the subject "hotswap" especially if it gets mentioned...(monkey blind, monkey no see)
the age must be creeping up on me...Confused

I never fully softmod an xbox before I tsop flash it, I have always just used the file manager within SID to load up a modded version of evox and flash. The hard drive gets thrown in a drawer at that stage in stock condition with nothing more than the exploit in the game saves.

I'm looking forward to having a play around with this as i love unleashx and anything that is built from it.

Thankyou Sppv! excellent work Very Happy

Technicaly once you run the gamesave you are softmoded. You are running a font exploit its just not running an installed BIOS patch lol

Update
Im working on adding XISO extraction and creation, along with auto compression and rename features to the Babylon1.exe so it can be used without an external XISO app and can easily update the ISO with emus and apps as you see fit.

Compression will be limited to zip and rar formats since thats all the XBOX can handle.

That sounds awesome! Qwix is a nice app, but I'd prefer to extract and make isos within my console itself. Great stuff!

Yes i know that, i was just pointing out that if you are going to tsop flash an xbox there is no point in fully installing the softmod to the hdd, just a waste of time imho.

You used assembly code to create Babylon? Wow that's bad ass Cool

Figured guys like you and devs coded xbox apps in python, C/C++, java or something else high level.

Obviously assembly code has some higher level syntax, but that's getting awfully close to machine code Shocked

Thanks for dedicating your time to your work.

I agree with you about the free or nothing policy. Some very talented hackers and devs have devoted their time to add life to these consoles and give them a new purpose. It isn't right to go selling something someone intended to share with the world for free.

That being said, how can you honestly expect TiZ to respond to a DMCA notice or lawsuit? They do have older console isos right on their site in plain view Shocked

Of course most gamers aren't gonna complain about obtaining a free game...

Wouldn't the ESA would already know about them and have asked they remove copyrighted content in the past? If so, what would really scare TiZ at this point?

That being said, even if you and curbside don't get along, why would he deliberately post your work after reading you rant so many times others doing it? Seems childish to me.

He did it for two reasons

1)To be a d1ck and purposefuly piss me off

2)Because he knows my apps are a big draw in the XBOX world and his greedy ass wants to try and sell it and make some more cash off my apps

End result is everybody is gonna lose. Im gonna have to spend money to force them to stop trying to sell stuff Ive made. Their gonna lose because I will win in forcing the removal of what I wrote which will render the copy they are trying to sell useless. Their ISP is gonna lose because they ignored the DMCA takedown and so have no safe harbour immunity and Holland is a Berne Convention signatory so will be bound by the judgement I get here in Canada. Users as a whole are gonna lose because Im gonna straight up Josef Stalin on distro and only give out links and 1 time use serial keys to people I know and trust on future work.

^^ DEFINITELY option 1 for a start! (rubbing it in faces with the "so what? it's alright for me but nobody else! when i lie, it's the truth, when you speak the truth, i B& YO A$$")
after all that crap that was said about "drama" at TIZ itself (things happen, time passes) and he and his shitbag lackeys rock up here trying to destabilise the place...yep, i'm going with option 1 (he has a gun so it gives him right of way....see beyond that phrase to what i'm REALLY driving at)
.....
as i think of option 2 (and that phrase with added cryptic meaning) the $$$ is a bonus...
agreed he's a THIEVING BASTARD but imagine for a second that it was impossible to draw in the $$$ from it, i SERIOUSLY believe he'd do it just to spite you anyway!
he's the kind of problem that's f*cked about this world...
DO AS I SAY, NOT WHAT I DO! I HAVE A GUN THEREFORE I CAN DO AS I PLEASE AND YOU CAN SUCK ME OFF!
^^ that's the kind of character he is! (aka: the capitalist status-quo say one thing and do the opposite knows nothing of anything but hides behind the backing of the admin there coz he's getting a whacking $$$ payout as well..PERSON! I HATE a LOT the w*lsh and most ********! jambo's in bed with "kilroy silk" and C#$% is in bed with the tea party....yet they like to cry hard done to when really they're NAZI purists with more $$$ and oxygen that is fair under all that double-standard speak) Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad
DICKS!

And dont get confused Halofan. A DMCA notice is a fuckin joke. Its just me writing a letter and quoting the DMCA. Thats a far sight from me getting a judgement in court. Jambo (AKA James Bressington) can ignore a DMCA but as a UK resident he cant ignore a judgement from a Canada or USA court. TiZ domain is registered in USA, and Canada is a Commonwealth country. A civil judgement here has the same weight as from a UK court. Hes just naively/stupidly banking I wont spend the cash for a principle based fight. News flash Ive spent the money and hired two lawyers. One in New York and one in Ontario.

Sorry to hear how much trouble this is causing you. The serial number for a one-time download sounds like a good idea, especially if it's only for those you know.

I hope the lawyers help. Supposing all goes well and they are forced to remove to the download, what's to stop them from putting it back up down the road (say a year)? Would they face a financial penalty the first time that is large enough to give them pause?

Will Hobbs open a donation link here? I'm sure others like me would be happy to help you out Smile

Theres nothing to "stop" a re-occurence since they have no regard for the law. But their ISP is another ballgame. Holland ISP will turn a blind eye to infringement until said infringeent gets rammed up their ass. Which is our plan. We are going to target the ISP first, then once removed target TiZ, and Jambo (AKA James Bressington) for knowingly attempting to sell files that under original authors terms are free only, and my Babylon files which Ive stated many times are free only and an Hq/Xtras exclusive project. They may think it helps them that I have XBMC and Madmab emus in Babylon, but it doesnt, they are GNU/Freeware which by very nature of the license precludes any charge, so even without my config, content and executables is violating many TOS to sell.

We are gonna hit where it hurts and hopefully they will learn just because we arent Cpcom or EA doesnt mean you can shit on us. We ARE great software devs, we have rights to our works even if we freely distribute. I will be the first of XBOX devs to step up, but I guarantee I wont be the last. The response Curb got when he went to Xtras to try and slam me kinda shows the view. Largest XBOX dev site and all

FREE OR NOT AT ALL

LMAO Only the softmod and XBOX executables (VCNuke, tut default.xbe) were written in assembly. Babylon1.exe was written in C, and the XBOX installer is just scripting and hex-edit and IDA edits of the Ux xbe.

But majority of what I make is exploit related so does get written in assembly. I wrote I think 16 executable files for Babylon and 13 or 14 of them were assembly(softmod xbe's)
