I got the Halo 2 map pack game from Tiz and was able to play it on my xbox and add those multiplayer maps to it. The only problem is the Xored trainers I got from UG don't seem to work anymore.

I suspect the auto-updates included in the disk may be preventing me from using them through XBMC.

I tried deleting the map pack game from my HDD, then deleted my halo 2 game, but not any profiles then reinstalled the game backup using my original disk with DVD2XBOX.

When I start up the game the "1.1" is still in the bottom right corner.

Does anyone know where in memory the updates were written to? Maybe they're simple files I can delete or I might have to change a configuration file.

Most likely it would be a file in the E\TDATA folder. Youll have to do some searching since its just numbered folders there, hopefully there will be a file that lets you ID the proper folder

Thanks SPPV,

I'll do some digging around my xbox drive contents and some google searching and report back here when I find some suspects.

You may also want to try to clear all of the cache partitions in case the version data is stored there.

I've seen SPPV clear the xbox hdd cache and something called "pagefilles" before in a youtube video

This one actually: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clove5gttLg

From what I understand pagefilles are stored on HDD when you don't have enough RAM for all the processes you're running at a particular time

It appeared he deleted all cache data and pagefiles

E:\cache and Z: drive, respectively

Are there any other temp file locations to delete contents from?

If SPPV says there's no harm in deleting cache and pagefile data, then I'll try that out first as a quick test and see what happens

^^ check the "X:/, Y:/ and Z:/" volumes, they should be blank on powerup/reboot but sometimes it's not the case! (rarely happens)
that's all i can think of aside purging the ENTIRE halo save directory as well!
f*ckit, purge ALL evidence of halo mod and game and reinstall the clean retail dump!
one way to ID a save that's foreign is back up the "TDATA/ and UDATA/" directories to another volume then delete them from E:/ volume after you mirrored them, the console creates these two directories on powerup/restart/GAME usage so....
purge BOTH user directories then load up the game/modded game and look for new entries in the newly created "TDATA/ and UDATA/" directories and after, compare the new save directories to the backed up user directory contents...simple!
have fun!

Clearing your X:\, Y:\ and Z:\ partitions along with the E:/Cache folder won't harm your Xbox at all. All it will do is increase load times the next time you boot up a game/application because the program will need to rewrite the cache data.
