Origianly I wasnt planning to cut back my time doing the download upgrades and offering support until September, but a new law was recently passed regarding EI here in Canada and now to qualify for funding for university I was forced to take a new job. So starting tommorow I will be on very infrequently. Sorry guys, just the way shit happens. Will still offer support and will still work on upgrading the downloads, just dont expect super snappy results like before

I'm back, for a bit at least.
Nice to see you guys still hanging onto this great machine.
I think my X3 machine might be in need of service soon, it seems to be crashing a lot more and the HDD and DVD drive might be failing. It is still operational though, even if it requires more reboots.
I think it is more reliable than my desktop monster I have here. The graphics card, though good, crashes the computer regularily.
Sad to see you go, you have done a lot of the Xbox. It was also sad to see xbmc4xbox.org go down. I'm not sure if that site will ever come back. Anybody heard any news on that?
I'm looking into making my other Xbox (a 1.6 as well) into a portable one. I heard this has never been done before because the PSU is awkward. This won't stop me though :) Need some good info. I'll start a new thread asking for any information at all.
I will have a look at the wayback machine for captures of xbmc4xbox.org that would be really really useful. Might find some Xbox gold.
EDIT:
Can't find anything at all on the wayback. There are 5 captures of the forum, but no posts or anything. There was a lot of great info on the modding section. All probably lost forever. I will try to contact somebody from the site but their email may just bounce... _________________

Theres a new XBMC site set up by some of the project devs. Nobody can get a hold of the admin from the original site so its uncertain what will happen with it. But you can get acces to alot of what was there and the latest builds here http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/
For the HDD issue Id try reinstalling the M$ Dash and dashboard. XBMC Installer has everything you need for doing that if you want an up to date and beefed out XBMC
I wont be leaving or anything, Ive got my duties and will fulfill them. Just wont be able to commit the kind of time I was before while laid off. I said Id upgrade the downloads, make new stuff and do support, and by God that wont change. Until Hobbs finaly throws in the towel on the old beast I'll be here helping and nuking the spammers trying to peddle viral links.

One of the HDD failures was it not spinning up at all. Fixed after a reboot though.
A lot of the time it is just XBMC hanging for no apparent reason.
Tried fixing the sticky DVD drive. No luck. Need to demagnetize the spindle. _________________
