Ok so i haven't been around for a couple years, i've been messin around with 360s so my original xbox has been gathering dust. I find that unacceptable because its the system that got me to buy a soldering iron in the first place lol. So i wanna revamp, but i'm having problems. First off, I wanted to buy the X-tender case so i can house 3 hdds, but i cant find one and if anyone knows where i can buy one id appreciate it. second i'm going to install my x3ce chip into it, but it looks like my ex's cat chewed the wires that go from the chip to the switch. I really don't wanna shell out 90 bucks for a new chip, if i can even find one, so if i buy the upgraded external switch for the x3ce will it come with new wires to attach to the chip? I'd also like to add a lcd to the outside, but there again i can't find one for sale anywhere and would really appreciate it if anyone could point the way. Last but not least. I purchased the xapt3r for the x3ce both 1.0-1.5 and the 1.6+ version back when i was modding friends xboxes because it seemed the easiest way to upgrade all my friends hdds. well i got it in and out of like 3 xboxes before the screws stripped out on both of them so now they wont hold the xapt3r down tight enough onto the lpc board for the chip to connect. anyone have any suggestions for ways around this? Sadly i tried... hot gluing... the xapt3r down but it didnt work... I just wanna make a really memorable xbox so that it doesnt seem so dead. and if anyone has any additional ideas for cool stuff to do to an xbox let me know, cause i dont even know what all can be done anymore.

I doubt you'll be able to find any of that stuff unless you get lucky on ebay or craigslist. Modding sites have not been selling anything X3 CE related since 2008 or 2009. The only Xecuter product they carry anymore are the X2.6 CE. If you can find a place that still sells the LCD's you should tell me about it.

I'm also not sure what wires you are talking about. Are you talking about the wires that go to the front of the Xbox that allows you to choose what bios banks you are on?

As far as the xapters go....I would avoid them at all costs. You said you have a soldering iron, so I would solder it in. No matter what you do, solderless solutions always seem to mess up at some point, so if you can pull it off you should solder the chip down. You'll be happier in the end with it.

Yeah that's what i was afraid of.. I guess i'll just google it till i find something.. i really wish i had bought more of all of that stuff back when it was around.
Yeah the wires that run from the chip to the bios bank switch. They got chewed up, so if i buy the other external switch with the leds will it come with new wires to attach it? Yeah i guess i can just solder it. but i'll have to find a lpc rebuild cause my box is a 1.6.

If you can find an external bios bank switch, it would come with a new wire. I have one on mine that I really like but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I think you may find that you'll have a hard time this part as well, because I haven't seen a bios switch for the X3 in a few years either. Best of luck on this.

I would advise that you bust open the Xbox and see what version it is so you know what you are working with. Once you know what you have, you can start looking into possible parts you may need to buy. If you have a 1.0-1.5 Xbox you could always TSOP it and save the X3 CE for a 1.6 Xbox (it would get a lot more use out of it than a 1.0-1.5 Xbox would).
