I have a chipomod xbox and have the King of Fighters edition Mugen game and it plays only when the standard video cables are connected instead of the composite cables....everything else works when using composite but the mugen game brings up this issue. Is there a setting I have to go through to make it work?

Xecuter3 CE
128 mb ram
733 Bravo w/ LCD Dash and usb ports

Its quite possible there is something that needs to be tweaked in setup, all versions are different and by different people, and Ive never used the one you refer to but I have been through the headaches of battle coliseum and know how buggy and hard it is to get them to run proper.

Do you have a heyboard hooked up? Mine would act like those old TVs with the Vhold off when I didnt have the keyboard plugged in.

NahI don't. But I tried to have my system run w/out the 480p, 720p, and the 1080i off with the composite connected and there's no budge. I don't know if it could be a TV issue but I have a 42 lCD Philips and it's less than a yr old.

Im assuming youre doing it to try and get higher quality video?

You may consider the S-Video connector or the XBOX HD RGB Kit. Ive got the HD S-video one and I run my stuff on a 26 inch Toshiba 1080p and it looks realy good, better than just the video cables that came with it

Its also quite possible its a quirk of the Xmugen Edit youre using. With BC it has to be on F drive in the games folder, if games doesnt have a capital G wont work, need keyboard hooked up at boot, 2 controllers hooked up or the directional controls dont work. The list goes on and on I probably have 10 years knocked off my life from the stress that program causes.

Thanks SPPV. I will look into this and let you know how it works. One more question...Is S -video a higher definition then the components? I found both of them and don't know which is better?

Ok here are something I found more info on my system to see if there is a reason to my current problem. In addition, I will show the system info of my girlfriends mod to see if anyone can tell me the reason why mines is not performing the way it should. The difference between the 2 will be highlighted.

System 1:
Modchip:
Xecuter3 CE
Bios:3294
Kernal Version: 1.0534.1
128 mb ram
733 Bravo w/Black LCD Dash Faceplate and usb ports
Xbox info:
Version: 1.4
Video Encoder: Focus
GPU: NV2A
SMC: P11
Plays everything including mugen games only in composite. Flickers when the component cables are connected and mugen games go blank with the sound playing only.

Sytem 2:
Modchip:
Xecuter3 CE
Bios:3294
Kernal Version: 1.05034.1
64 mb ram
Crystal European Version w/Crystal LCD Dash Faceplate and usb ports
Xbox Info:
Version 1.6
Video Encoder: XCalibur

GPU:NV2
SMC:P2L
Plays everything in hi-def including the mugen games with the components connected.

Both sytems have the same Xecuter chip and bios but the clear cut difference is the video encoder and the system management controller. The crystal's encoder runs in 1080i max while the other one runs in 720p max only. Could those differences be the problem as to why the Bravo can only play and do everything in composite only (including all mugen games)?
