You have to take the entire XBOX apart, remove the DVD and HDD, remove thr front casing from the inside and switch the LED to the one you want

I wanted to do this mod but I couldn't find any tuts on x-scene and the tutorial section on here doesn't work for me.

Also, I don't think you can buy 3 pin LEDs. I think they are a special OEM product that Microsoft thought would look good. They were right.

The other option is to use an adapter and steal power from the HDD molex for your lights, and just disable the stock lights and put your own in. Ive ran lights to the top like this on a crystal.
