What dash have you got? If its UnleashX its already included just go to settings-Misc-Game Disc Ripper. Its way better IMO than DVD2XBOX which is your best choice if you got Evox, Ava, or XBMC. Its the only way to make backups as far as putting backups onto your XBOX goes FTP is the way to do it.
If you want to rip straight to your PC or a Network drive use Craxtion 4. Install on your PC put the game in the XBOX make sure it doesnt autorun, open Craxtion and go to Game Ripper and it will let you rip it to your PC

You cant actualy rip games with your PC, the closest you can come is using something like Craxtion which allows you to rip it to your PC via network but its still the XBOX itself doing the rip. Unleashx disc ripper is superior to DVD2XBOX, Ive ripped hundreds of games and Ive had tons DVD2XBOX has choked on and Unleashx has ripped it no problem. Its easier too, just pop in the disc and hit rip, it will automaticaly put it to your games folder on F or G
