I'm about to mod my xbox for the first time. I'm planning on installing 4 more ram chips on it as well. It is a 1.0 xbox and I was wondering how big of a hard drive I can upgrade to. If I can i want to use a 1TB but I don't know if there is a limit on how much the system can handle. I'm planning on installing soft-mod installer deluxe v 5.01 and will use xbmc. Any help or tips would be great. Hope I was specific enough.

The ram chips will do vary little to help the xbox as you will need to recode all the games and emus to use them, the ram really only helps running linux.

If you softmod the xbox it will need to be lockable, chipped xboxs can run unlocked and live is dead for the old xbox so that don't matter any way.

Good idea to keep the drive unlocked if you have a mod chip incase the xbox dies. Then no worrying about unlocking the drive to salvage data/reuse it on another xbox _________________
