So there is still a few of that play Halo Ce alot and we are trying to figure out a way to Mod and or create and machine that will allow us to play Halo CE on the same box without having to use a networking cables to cut out the slight lag that off host has while playing. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and or has any suggestions and where to look or have any ideas to do it! sorry if this post isn't in the right spot but there is so many hacking/mod pages to post in i just thought I'd start here

You wont be able to on an xbox it just doesnt have the juice to run multiple instances of halo at the same time. Your only options are network cable or use a nice new gaming PC to run it

To pull off what you want youd need a dual or quad core CPU, a couple GB of RAM and an Eyefinity capable video card which can render multiple graphic scenarios independantly and concurrently, none of which the XBOX has.

and the cpu and the ram. To utilize the kind of tech you would need would mean using a PC and an emulator. You could never hook a Phenom 2 or 2GB of ram or a high end vid card to a xbox motherboard. And to do it without emulation would mean writing your own BIOS and probably OS so you could run a PC just like an XBOX.

The best you will ever do is with a PC

If your on a LAN that is setup correctly, the lag should be so small that you don't even notice it.

Also many game lag on the xbox just playing in single mode. Quite a few games were designed at the far end of spectrum of what the xbox can handle. Look at Godfather every time you blow a safe it lags. Youre just gonna have to accept playing networked on the xbox or if the lag is too much for you on the PC.

Have you tried it on the 360? perhaps that could give you a bit better networking performance.

I want to explain first that the people we play halo with are the best players around aka equally as good as the Ogres are if you guys know who they are. Second the lag is as minimal as we can get. We have 6 inch crossovers on TXR tvs, the best halo tvs u could ever buy.

And yes its minimal but you have to remember halo 1 was a mistake as far as multiplayer so they didn't design it to be played the way we play it.

Any halo player that plays halo ce will tell you, that you have to change you play style for when you are off host there is that slight extra amount you have to lead while aiming and that off host when u just sit there and shoot your pistol the shot isn't always centered like when you have have host the shots are still in the retical circle but not in perfectly centered. Also being off host has a higher tendency to give turnny lag where when u turn to fast your shots go sideways (again the game wasn't supposed to be played like this). Also when u are off host jump shooting is not a option because in the game your shots are thrown off anyway from jumping but when off host they just go side ways no matter what even if u lead 3-6 inches.

And if anyone knows what I'm talking about and watch the games the games don't have a big difference in kill spread 50-4X. and yes we alternate host but we want it to where the game is perfect for both sides every match and this would be the solution.

Oh also with the 360 question we have tryed it but alot of times when u start a match the teams are thrown into seperate games where only there team exists on the map but says the other team is there but really isnt.

Well your never going to be able to hook two xboxes together, so I dunno what to tell you. All you can do is either continue to play lan, move over to halo on computer, or start playing a newer halo.
