Hello HQ Users,
I'm in need of a dvd drive for an old xbox because my current one ejects the tray without a disc. I have disassembled but can't find anything I can fix.
Would it be a good idea to wipe the internal components that support the disc with isopropyl alcohol, as I have a bottle handy?
Somewhere in Aus. would be good, close to Melbourne or Tasmania even better.
Cleaned with alcohol - all is good - found some sticky stuff inside the drive.

glad to hear you got it working again, and yes, its always good to give them a good clean before you giveup.. I would say replacement xbox 1 drives would be hard to find soon.
I ran across this site that sells them refurbished. Kind of high for an old device. Now compared to other drives, they are fair prices. Just thought I would share.
