So my friend gave me his xbox that he attempted to mod a long time ago but never finished....it seems that its a 1.6 but the problem is that he deleted his hd and attempted to hardmod but looks like he did it wrong....what i want to do is try and bring it to its normal stage and start from the beggining but when i turn it on i get an error 5....basically is there anyway i can reformat the hd to its original state and try to sofmod it.....ps i have a hard mod xbox myself if it works....thanks in advance.

Hi Justmichael,

The xboxhdm package will let you create a bootable CD that can access and manipulate/rescue, clone and even rebuild working xbox HD's from scratch on your PC.

xboxhdm - Xbox-HQ Homebrew Database

enjoy the sites,

cheers,

You can softmod the xbox like any softmod and then make your connection on the mobo, from there use the AID bios flash tool and its tsop option. Wink
link to solder points if you still need one. http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/TSOP_flashing_HOWTO
