do you absolutey need an IDE hard drive? would SATA be beter? if so how to i hook that up? will they fit correctly so i can close the xbox lid? how many GIGS can i get if i plan to softmod my xbox?

A SATA drive should work fine but you would need a SATA to IDE adapter. As for the size, if they make it, you can most likely use it.

IDE makes it easier to hook up, and you don't have to buy the converter, as stated above.

As for size, even a 2 TB will work in it, as long as you use large clusters in xbpartitioner.

Even better, if you have an old hdd lying around you can check to see if it can be LOCKED for the xbox 1 in our harddrive database..
