Finally! I've managed to get my xbox softmodded and the hdd upgraded to 160GB space, this has taken some time - but is all the more satisfying for having done it i guess... (yeah right!). Anyway, if you are a complete n00b like i was, some tips that killed me:
1) Make sure you find the right memory stick to load the game onto. I had sooo many failures on this one, in the end a friend lent me a stick that he 'knew' worked - turns out i had everything right with many failed memory sticks!
2) Get the AID kit, awesome..
Anyway, that's done now and i'm moving onto the topic that has me really interested in xbox modding - installing linux on the damn thing. What i really want isn't so much a media centre, but a media centre that i can surf, chat and IM with as well... Has anyone got any good recommendations of the right distro that will go onto the xbox F partition?

I cant say i know what OS will do all that and do it well, keep in mind that it is just an xbox bro.

Well, you could just about setup your xbox for anything now.. Full MEDIA CENTER or EMULATOR STATION.. hehehe Gotta love AID.. Congrats on your softmod man. Glad to hear you took the time and did it yourself!
