I'm trying to play a video on my xbox with xbmc 9.04.1 r20848. I have a dvd disc with a bunch of video files on it that won't play properly. The video playback stutters severely showing only 3 or so frames per second. I popped the disc in my computer and vlc displays the following information about the video file: avc1 video codec 704x576 25fps.

weird.. only time i suffer any problems is when i try to play 720p videos..
Maybe the video bitrate is too high or something?!?!? If your not running the latest XBMC you could try updating to see if that fixes your issue.
AIDeluxe should have the most recent release and if not you can use the ISO updater tool!
