i did a bad flash and now i have no video, all i need is the menu structure of the bios flashing section of the auto installer, so that i can re-flash the tsop with the correct bios. I already have AID4.40, and the readme file gives you a basic menu structure, but stops at the bios flashing section. what i need to know is what buttons to i press in what order to flash my xbox blind.
Hi,
Tell me what bios you are wanting to flash and Ill go through the motions and post the results
Another, and possibly better option in your scenario is to use the `eurasia pro generic flash disc` its a two disc bios flash tool. The first disc loads the linux raincoat flash utility, once loaded the dvd tray ejects and you install a disc that you have burned your `bios.bin` file to, then the flashing commences, no button pressing or guessing involved ............. I have used this method myself when flashing blind. _________________
just the m8+ 137Gb+ the 1Mb version. i tried aid4.4 on my friends xbox but i couldnt get the last few commands because his xbox is a winbond chip and it stops early. Thanks heaps i'll look into the eurasia thing but unfortunately for me i have the toshiba samsung dvd rom drive and it is really picky with its media but ill try cds and hopefully itll boot
Copy bioses to C drive
Copy bioses to E drive
Copy bioses to F drive
Copy bioses to G drive
Flash with 256k bios
Flash with 512k bios
Flash with 1mb bios
Flash TSOP with MS bios
Return to main menu
so, i reckon you need 6 gentle taps down (it highlites the `copy bioses to C drive` first), then press A - you then get this screen :
Evox M8+
Evox M8+ 137gb
Evo M8+ FC
Evox M8+ FC 137gb
Evox M8+ v1.6
Evox M8+ v1.6 137gb
then 2 gentle taps down then A.
For some reason my M8+ 137gb bios failed to load, i had to press down 4 times and load the M8+ FC 137gb ......... Its the exact same bios, it just looks for your dashboard.xbe file on the F drive first, if it finds nowt it`ll then look on C for your dash.
Post back with your results, you`ve got some balls attempting this method blind, good luck. _________________
alright ive burned eurasia onto dvd-r's and tried to get it to load for 20 mins lol but no love from there it just keeps booting to the dash. after i press a on the bios, is there any "are you sure" screens where i have to press anything else? or do i just select it and it starts, also just checking but once its started, i cant accidentally press anything to cancel it short of the power button can i? thankyou for your help so far
Hi,
Ok with eurasia you might have to burn a dummy file to both the flash disc and your bios disc, just burn any 50mb file you have along with eurasia :
disc 1 = eurasia flash disc with dummy file
insert this disc then restart the console, after a couple of mins the dvd tray automatically opens, you then insert the second disc, 10 seconds later the dvd tray automatically closes and attempts to load the second disc
disc 2 = burn a disc as a data disc, use nero, put the bios.bin file on the root of this disc, seeing as your bios file is only 1mb, i recommend sticking a dummy file of any kind on the disc along with the bios ..... insert this disc when the dvd tray automatically opens.
theres no options, it does everything automatically, you just neet to insert your bios.bin disc when the tray opens _________________
the one i downloaded already had dummy files on both discs i think that it would load on any other dvd rom drive but mine is exceptionally crappy and i think i just have to keep trying i'll update as soon as anything happens.. for now i might call 3am a night thanks heaps for helping
SUCESS!!! thanks heaps for telling me about eurasia lol that made things alot easier i hooked up my pc's dvd rom drive and it runs everything perfectly lol so i was able to flash the standard m8 and then once i could see i flashed the 137Gb+ version so now i'm up and running thankyou very much for your help id be stuck for ages without it
i had "bios failed to load" come up for a few of the bios's too, and i had to press Y once i successfully loaded a bios, so it would have been a bit of a screw around to figure that out blind nearly did it though and i didnt make it worse which is always a plus.
