Yes, but make sure the model is on the compatibility list for drives that can be locked. Just tell the guy you are looking for a specific model to rry to recover yours with another board and was wondering what model theirs was. If it's on the list go get and have fun. We'll be here to help out.

hey man I have done several xbox's over the years and the latest softmod will def do what you need, but what exactly is that? Do want to store some games, emus, movies or just play backups. If your going mod your box why not pop in at least 100GB to give you some play room, I know that you could pick up 100 - 200GB HD that supports locking pretty cheap if you look, first check the supported drives list and then ebay away, or even check a local PC shop save up a few bucks and get a little bit of size in the long run it would be better to have too much room than not enough, but thats just my opinion. But like delta said we are all here to help, ultimately you have to decide whats best for you. Peace bro. _________________ v1.0, 300GB, X3 (Update In Progress)

I feel your pain jobs are hard to come by right now it took me a while to get a part time job which is only temp anyway, well you should def get everything you have together and make a list and we will McGiver it somehow, lets see... a paper clip, a magnet, and some twine were all set. but seriously put together what you can and we will see what we can make out of it. _________________ v1.0, 300GB, X3 (Update In Progress)

I looked over the tutorial and i'm confused. To clone my hard drive using chimp, do i have to use my computer at all? To me, it seems like i have to connect both hard drives together in the xbox, and then use chimp to clone it. Am i right?

You are correct. First make sure you have the original harddrive jumper on master and the new one set to slave. the new one is the one where you plug the ribbon cable from the dvd drive into. It may take a bit longer to get into the dash because it is looking for the dvd drive, but it will boot.

Definitely need a y splitter for the power of the second hd, look for a post from finalcloud, his tutorial is complete and also has what to do for 1.6 xbox's. For sure figure out which version you have.
