Hello.
Well, i just finished flashing an x3ce chip w/x3 3294 in a v1.1mb xbox, phillips drv, mexico. It wasn't the smoothest thing i've done with an xbox. I made about 8 disk's 2 diff ways w/3 diff prgm's :decypter/Img/roxio.(lost nero in sw 2 vista) Diff media: cd/rw-dvd/rw dvd/r -/+ & brands. Tried burning aid 3294 cd iso. burned as image. Also, new comp using 3294 named; BIOS.BIN file and 100mb dummy & build iso + burn.
best I could get was flash bios 300 or 301 Showing volume label & just sitting, or "no update found-halting". Finnaly, i just drug the pc over to the xbox & flat screen & http'd into the xbox w/firefox. It flashed that way! It took a good 5 min to initiate. See anthing wrong with the burn steps let me know.. I'd like to get that down pat. Main thing is: got r done!
Man, that xbx-hq aid 4.5 auto-installer is -SOME PIECE OF SOFTWARE-! I'd like to say Thank's to Those who obviously worked hard on it. it's great!
So. about the optical drv: i tried out my retail disk's and they loaded ok. about half the backup disk's i tried failed to initilize. They read fine in my other xbox w/samsung. -r disk's. So, think it would be worthwhile to try and tweak the phillips pot? is it a valid tweak? only a couple of tut's specified a value: around 500 ohms. Is this what I would need to shoot for? opinions?
