Where does xbox store the password to lock or unlock hd. I unlocked Hard Drive using auto installer deluxe v 4.40 lite and lost power so now xbox will not boot up, get error 05 contact customer service. I am using xboxhdm v 1.9 as (http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html) said to do. I just need to know where xbox stores it?? It is asking for a directory as to where the password is?? If you can, please help!! My xbox is screwed unless I can Lock HD back or create new one, but im not quite sure on how to make one from scratch

If you had made a back up of the eeprom then it is in the E drive but if you never made a back up it is on a chip on the MoBo and you will need an eeprom reader to get it.

when I instlled soft mod I made backups but I dont recall making a backup of eeprom. if that is the case where can I get an eeprom reader from?? I am kinda new to this and I thank you for helping me out in advance!!

When you install a softmod you have to backup your eeprom no matter what to install it, so you have one. _________________

so how do I restore it?? My xbox will not let me do anything as soon as it turns on it immediately geos to the flashing red/green light and will not boot anything.

Have you tried to see if the HDD is unlocked before it does that by doing the hotswap method? _________________

I know that it is unlocked. but not quite sure on how to restore it. tried the hot swap and changed the password but it still will not let me lock it back

If the HDD you have is the one that came in the xbox you will need to chip it or make an eeprom reader.

I do not know how to make an eeprom reader. have not researched it yet but I will look into it and if I have any problems I will be sure to ask you guys what to do before I mess it up more!!! lol. Went and bought new xbox so Im not loosing any game time!!!

I just built an eeprom Reader from the llamma site for under $20 bucks and well worth it. from there you can get the password.
