Backing up games........ I have read the tut's and all the posts I can find used Craxtion, CloneXB, Qwix, tried to burn iso on Nero and DVDDecryptor, tried to burn at the minimum speed, tried to burn with closing the disk, tried 2 different types of DVD. the best I can get is the game (Need for Speed Underground .. Classic) starts goes through the intro lets you start the race then after like 10 seconds hangs and makes a nesty noise.. Xbox is a 1.6 latest media centre, can copy to HDD np and works, tried them on 2 machines, (both 1.6) copys are no go. I think it is the media ie. DVD brands I know they should be DVD-r but what is the best media to drop them on. Have tried another copied game it worked fine. some ideas would be great as I think I've hit a wall I'm in Oz a bit of a Noobe and stressin out, Don't want my kids wrecking another game disk..

If the cache is full it will keep your disks from booting up.

Ok tried that . another coaster. emptied cache Ripped with craxtion, patched and burnt with DVDDecriptor. game starts with all the intro np , go into any section ie. drag if you are winning game hangs in about 10 sec. if you are not winning and putting around will last a lot longer ????? when it freezes carnt do the reboot to dash either. It seems that craxtion is the only prog that will ftp with the box dont know why, could the problem be with the ripped files?? have deleted orig files and reripped them (with same prog) does the same thing.

He's talking about the E:\cache of the hard drive, not the game disc.

If you have burned the disc correctly you don't need to keep burning new ones because it sounds like your cache is just full. Sounds like your going to have a lot of copies of the same game.

sorry e:/cache on the hdd on the xbox were the files I deleted as for the puter well I still have 204gig left on the c and 50 on the d, so its not short of space,, edit again sorry I have tried the original in the xbox it works fine,, is the cache to do with only copies? as for the amount of copies most as in the bin bar the last one don't really care as long as I can get this right before the next game dies

Ok just to add to the mix,, play the copy, keep the speed below 50MPH you can go around and around no problem, get over 60 or hit 90 it hangs, rip that disk out and put the original in rest a brick on the accelerator and away you go as fast as you can go, One thinks its to do with the disk whether the media or the data on it , I'll try another brand shortly

Trying clearing all the files out of the X:\, Y:\ and Z:\ partitions as well because those are caches.
