Ok, I just tried flashing an iso via FTP. I transfered the file just fine and when i tried to flash it it said file doesnt fit..no big deal i get that all the time. Well then i wanted to take the junk file offa my Box. So i went to Restore on the menu...it showed the little screen, and it stayed there. So i powered down and now when i power up all i get is a red light on my chip and after a while i get a orange light on my box...any help?
Oh, and i get no screen by the way...my TV just stays on SVID...

I guess I'm going to show my abundant stupidity, but you flash an ISO to what? your modchip? How in the heck do you flash an ISO? _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Well I'm a total n00b to the modding scene...and i downloaded the evox autointaller from this site. I thought all i had to do was transfer the ISO to my xbox. Well I think the problem is that my HDD now has this ISO file on it and its affecting the start up proceure....so i get nothing...i need to fix my box....and i have no clue how..is there any way i can take the HDD out completley and hook it up to my PC and remove it thataway? Or if anyone knows how to do this properly please tell me..i feel like such a jackass....
And to make things harder..the damn disk tray wont even open!!!!! ARG!

No problem! All of us were noobs at one time... in fact, some seem to remain noobs forever, such as myself. I'll start helping you out until reinforcements arrive.
First, you need to burn the ISO to a disc your Xbox DVD drive can read... CD-RW are probably the best, as I believe all three brand DVD drives will read CD-RW (get CD-RW, not CD-R, until you're certain it'll read CD-Rs).
Then, if you can boot up your Xbox with it, you should be able to choose a menu option that will autoinstall everything for you.
When you said you "flashed" the ISO, did you mean that you FTP'd the ISO to Xbox Hard Drive or does your modchip (I'm not familiar with your chip, I have two Xecuters) have some way that you can flash the modchip via FTP? If you simply FTP'd the ISO to the hard drive, I don't think that'll give you any problems... it'll just take up space and won't do anything. If your modchip can somehow allow for flashing via FTP, maybe you've corrupted the BIOS. On my chip, if the BIOS got screwed, I could flip a switch so that the modchip would boot the Cromwell BIOS that would then allow me to boot a CD-RW with a BIOS such as EvoX or Xecuter, etc. THEN I'd use the autoinstaller.
To get the DVD drive open manually, I think there is a hole about an inch to the left of the powr button that you can stick a pin in and get the tray to open... I've read that there are something like little gears that the pin will push (at least on some drives) and you may need to push them repeatedly to get the drive open enough.
I can't help you any more... hopefully I haven't told you too much wrong.
Since it's solderless, like one of mine, if there's anything screwy going on, one thing that crosses my mind is "Did the modchip become misaligned?"... it hasn't happened to me in several months now, but it has happened more than once.
Most importantly, don't fret. I suspect that, while it may be a pain in the rear, the problem will be easily fixable. we just gotta wait until one of the experts chimes in! Hang In There! We'll get it running! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Your issue is a little perplexing...
I have personally never had that happen in a few dozen Xenium Ice installs, but I am sure I can find the fix.
I'll see what I can dig up.
Just to make sure that I get this out of the way, it it solid orange, or orange and green?
If it's orange and green...make sure your video cable is tightly connected on the back of your xbox. Just a quick thought as I have done that one!

Did you get the drive to eject the disc or did you have to use the manual method?
You're in great hands now! RealMcCloy will get you fixed up. _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Yeah, I think your problem is a little more deeper than the modchip unfortunately. Here's how you can confirm. If you were to remove your modchip and reboot do you still have the same issue?
If so, then you may have done something to booger up your HD/Mobo. Personally, I don't know what your actions did to it but when your xbox boots up the light is orange for a short period of time. Then I can hear the HD and DVD Drive click in and the light changes.
Check to make sure your IDE cable is okay and all is plugged in correctly. Make sure the IDE cable ports are okay and not damaged. I'll keep looking around, but so far I have found nothing regarding your issue.
I'll keep you posted!

OS1.1 is much better than FRAG ad infinitum!
So, you've got the BIOS CD Packs? I thought you were trying to install EvoX dashboard/apps. I haven't used the BIOS CD Packs yet, but those are not autoinstallers, are they? I may be wrong, but I didn't think those installed EvoX the dashboard, just EvoX the BIOS (and other BIOS).
Maybe I'm not sure what you're trying to do... are you trying to install BIOS or Dashboard & Apps??? If you're trying to install dash/apps, I'd try the xboxhq autoinstallers, not the BIOS CD Packs.
If you need help burning the disc, try this tutorial... http://www.teamxecuter.com/qwixnero.htm _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room
